Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Fit: True to size
Height: 5' 10"
Weight: 170 lbs
Size Purchased: Med

I go for the med and it is a bit loose on me and I like it that way didn't want a super tight performance fit in this casual style. The Kodiak hoodie is 100% merino and the inside is brushed to help add warmth via additional loft (fleece like feel) on the interior. The Minus33 Hoodie also has thumb loops which I like. One down side, I don't like hood cords so I pulled mine out. All in all, it is just a great piece for cool weather!!

Familiarity: I've used it several times

I used this model only a few days so far and really like it! It fit myself and my 5 year old (no he isn't very big yet) really easily. I am 5'10" and easily fit, just felt like there is lots of room for a two person tent. Really like the double doors, I didn't have crawl over my son to get out at night to pee. Both doors having a vestibule is also really nice. The best part, which I only set up but can't wait to use, the Mountain Dome footprint which comes with it, can be used with only the poles and fly making a great sun shade or minimalist shelter! Also, the tent is really rigid, there is hub that clips to the poles where cross each other making it very stable without adding the weight of pole sleeves, really ingenious design on Mountainsmith's part. Can't wait to use it more extensively as the season goes on!

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have used the Explore for years, since like the late 90s. I have had this version of the Mountainsmith Explore for about 6 months and really like the external fabric update. Best features for me: 3 compartments - two small zip pockets on the front, large organizer front pocket, large main area and fully padded laptop compartment with neoprene sleeve that holds my laptop off the ground, but the bottom is fully padded as well. Lots of protection for my MacBook pro. This laptop compartment also fully unzips and lays flat, so unzip, lay flat on the x-ray and breeze through TSA screening. The material is water resistant also, so if I am running to a car, building etc. I am not worried about it getting wet. It really is just a great bag, big enough so that if I am gone just one night and only need a change of shirt and underwear and shower kit, I can fit it in this bag.
