Kayla Weiser's Bio

Born and raised between Utah and Colorado, I count myself lucky enough to have grown up in the mountains and desert. My main squeeze is skiing. This is my 13th season on telemark, and I have no plans leaving anytime soon. I grew up competing on the big mountain circuit, so my first preference is ripping big lines. Although I still love riding park days, building backcountry booters, and backcountry touring.

With no snow, adventures outside are still mandatory. Rock climbing is a number one- trad, bouldering, sport. Also love to get out camping, hiking, and backpacking. I grew up running rivers, and prefer to row but enjoy getting out in a kayak as well. I've also had extensive experience with outdoor dog gear- I have a two year old Newfoundland- so if you or your furry companion need any doggie gear advice, I'd be happy to help!

I purchased an RVCA top a couple of years ago with this same cut and have loved it to pieces. I tried to get another one last year but the fit was terrible and the material way too stiff. I decided to give it another go and try the Fluer, and I'm happy that I did! It runs the same fit as the one I originally purchased from two years ago, and the material actually hangs soft (especially after a wash). I love the raw hem and the shorter cut on the sides. It is designed to fit a bit more oversized though, so be wary of that extra space. Super cute, easy to wear with shorts or skirts, another win for RVCA!

Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
Fit: True to size
Height: 5' 2"
Weight: 120 lbs

I got this jacket as a gift for my stepmom, who was in desperate need of a new shell and kept running into fit issues. She put this one on and it fit like a glove! No weird zipper bulk in the front that gives the weird uni-boob look. The drop-hem is a nice touch to help protect on the wetter days without being too long. And it actually fit through the torso and sleeve length- everything else from Patagonia was fitting her short. The material on the shell is nice as well, not super stiff but definitely bombproof and ready to protect against the wind and precip. Zipper works smoothly, doesn't get stuck. She wears a Medium in most tops and a Medium in this jacket fits nice with enough room for a couple of layers.
Another top notch product from ArcTeryx!

I picked this up with fingers crossed hoping that it would fit on the larger side as I have continually run into problems with everything being too small, but alas I ended up having to return it. I really wish that it had worked out, as the detailed overlay is super cute! Easy to adjust, and comfortable padding.

I use this stabilizer every time with my Jetboil Sol. It folds up and fits inside of the canister with everything else, so there's no space issues or worries of it getting lost in a pack. It snaps on to the fuel canister pretty easy, but it's still a tight fit so it does stay in place. It's nice to use on a hard surface, or in the sand- basically just helps keep the system upright while cooking. Overall, I think it's a handy little tool

We picked up these liners with the original thought that they would help keep the Bark'n Boots in place while in use, rather than the boots flipping around and flying off. After some trial runs, I've found that they don't really help keep them in place at all, but they do have some other nice attributes.
The biggest advantage to using these liners with the boots is moisture control. Our newfoundland does have some pretty 'sweaty' paws, which have stunk up her booties in the past- these liners do a nice job of wicking that moisture so it doesn't end up compounding and forming a nasty stank. They also are a nice choice for playing in the desert, as they'll reduce abrasion from sand particles that slip into the boots so she doesn't get any raw spots. And though it may be minor, they do make putting on the booties a LOT easier.
One thing to note is that they themselves are very hard to get on. We have a smaller newfie and even with the largest size liners, it's a little bit of a wrestling match to get them on. They don't bunch at all with use, but I did notice that they slipped down after 30 minutes of running around.
All in all, they're not entirely perfect in all situations for Camber, but I am glad that we have them in the stash!

Love the corduroy on this hat! Makes it a little more unique, and fits with the classic patch well. Great hat for basically anything- hiking, climbing, fishing, driving, adventuring, hanging out with the dog, looking fly for a date- it's a killer choice for a one-hat-for-all.

I've gotten hooked on the metal water bottles, as they don't have any funky taste with them. Even if you use other liquids in the bottle, super easy to clean out with no residual funk. I like the larger size with the smaller mouth- makes it a whole lot easier to drink out of while moving! The cap is super easy to get on and off, and doesn't leak- which is great as I find the bottle is usually on it's side since it doesn't fit standard cup holders.

Hands down, one of my favorite work out tops! The material is super soft and comfortable, and doesn't seem to stretch as I thought it might. The fit is one of the most comfortable, and true to size. I am a bit more on the busty side and sometimes have trouble finding a top that fits, let alone actually provides support. This one is great for high impact sports, and is still super comfortable to wear for lengthy periods of time for easier the easier stuff like climbing and yoga. And I love the open cut in the back! Definitely would recommend.

I liked the look and materials of this top, but unfortunately it's just not for me. I should have known ordering it that it had no support, but I guess it was wishful thinking hoping that it would still work! All in all, it's a very cute cut but for anyone well-endowed it's not quite enough, even for lounging. Ended up returning it and opting for another model!

Living here in Utah, I already am prone to lizard skin hands in the winter. And to top it off, I love my chalk- it just wreaks a bit of havoc. I am a firm believer in lotion, but it doesn't quite do it for the wicked dry climbing hands. And soooo, the Metolius Hand Repair Balm comes to the rescue! I love the way it feels, it truly does help repair the dry hands, as well as help take care of the calluses without destroying the hard work. Not to mention, it smells awesome. It does take a few minutes to soak in, but not as long as I would have thought. Overall, killer product- good for any climber, I keep it on me at all times!

Being so short, I never thought I would find a maxi skirt that would fit without hemming it. Thankfully, this Billabong came to the rescue. The fold-down waist allows for easy length adjustment (it's not stitched together), so you can wear with flats or heels. Plus the material is ridiculously soft and comfortable, and makes for easy movement. Great fit, gorgeous print, definitely would recommend 'er!

These are an awesome merino layer! I wear them by themselves casually as a pair of leggings, as well as a layer up for skiing. My snowpants are not insulated, only fleece-lined through the bum, and these make for a perfect pairing. They are not very thick, but are still toasty. I overheat easily, so these are quite perfect- breath well, wick moisture, and help to keep me warm on the cold days.
As far as fit goes, I am 5'2 120lbs and I picked up the Small. They are long on me, but I make them work. Throughout the waist they are a tad large- not super tight, but they do stay in place. They are slim through the legs, but not skintight. Definitely recommend!

I have a pair of regular 'plain' ol' Minnetonkas, and I love them. I received these as a gift, and love the pattern to spice things up a little! Same moccasins with a great sole, and comfortable for every day wear. I did find that these ran a little larger than my regulars- I'm not sure if I got a mis-sized pair or what. I am generally a size 7, but these 7s had a little too much room in the toe (almost like genie shoes) so I swapped them out for a 6.5 and they fit much better. A little tighter and more slim, but with use they have become the comfortable fit.
