Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Fit: True to size
Overall, I liked these boots a lot. I have had them 23 months.
Best (1) traction NEVER let me down. (2) protection from elements - dry and warm (until they weren't -- see worst #1)
Worst (1) on the outer blade of the foot, just behind the rubber protective toe box is some flimsy fabric coating that wore through within a year, causing serious problems with cold wet feet. This happened first on right, then on left boot. Totally unsat. (2) The already "difficult" yellow becomes an intolerable baby-shit tan pretty quick. Zero style points for baby-shit brown.
If it weren't for the wear-thru issue, I'd buy another pair of these. With this wear problem, not recommended for serious backcountry use (these were mostly ADK 46 er hikes, day rucks only).
