Joey Sweeney's Bio

I've been snowboarding for about 10 years and make it my priority to get out as many days as I can during the winter. In the summer you can find me climbing in Little Cottonwood canyon or backpacking and fly fishing around the Uinta mountains. I'm a knowledgeable climber, snowboarder, and backpacker and I love helping people get into the outdoors.

Casual looking short with a great fit! They stretch, dry quickly, and so far have held up pretty well during weekend trips to the desert. So far I'm really impressed by the versatility and durability. I will definitely be getting another pair.

This was my first pair of Patagonia pants and they are way more comfortable and fit way better than I ever could have expected. They are a bit long but that's easily fixed by rolling up the pant cuff a bit.

Highly recommend!

I got this in the mail and two days later was in Puerto Rico. I had this hoodie on almost everyday as we Kayaked and hiked around a few islands in the Caribbean. It breathes fantastically and drys very quickly. As a pale man I still had some sunblock on underneath but the shirt did its job very well and I would absolutely grab another one.

I submitted a review of the Yeti Teller shorts with the same title. It's not a lack of imagination, but rather a listing of the items of importance, in order, to me. Like the shorts, these shoes are my first option when heading out on a mtn bike ride. As stated in another review these shoes work well on and off the bike due to the recessed cleats and large lugs. Living and riding in the heat of Arizona is why the breathable attribute is important to me, and these do not disappoint. Sizing is true. The lacing system makes adjustment and securing easy. These shoes will not disappoint.

These have been put to the test on the White Rim trail, Black Canyon trail, Sedona trail system, and more. So comfortable and good looking that I often use them for casual all day wear. After hundreds of miles of use/abuse they look nearly new, no tears, fraying, snagging zippers. I wear 33 in waist when I can find it. These 34's fit as expected, just a little extra room around waist. The Shok-N-lok system works as advertised, is accessible, and is easy to cinch down when active and release when not. Would absolutely recommend.

I'm generally a fan of shoes like this but after trying these on I was a little disappointed. They just aren't as comfortable or as well constructed as a pair of Vans Classics. I probably wouldn't pick up another pair of these shoes.

Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I got the bundle with the additional "out front" mounting option, as well as HRM and cadence sensor. I thought I'd determine which mounting option I liked better and probably discard the other. But, I was pleasantly surprised to learn I could program, name, and use the Edge on multiple bikes. So the regular mount is on the roadbike (Tarmac) and the "out front" is on the mtn bike (niner RIP). For fun I also programmed my KLR dirtbike (KLR) - no mount though. Setup was a snap. Out of the box the Edge provides all the usual GPS data as well as cadence & heart rate monitoring via included sensor and strap. All paired and worked immediately on installation. I bought a power meter a few months later and had no difficulty pairing it. I initially expected to use the 510 for a while and then upgrade to the 810 or whatever had the bells and whistles. But after about a year of abuse in the form of heat, cold, rain, mud, dirt, sweat, crashes, etc... the 510 is working flawlessly and providing all the data I need. Bottom line is I can't think of anything that I would change if I could. Great product.

Excellent alternative option to the backpack style hydration systems.
For the short to moderate length runs / mtn. bike rides the when the 50 oz (@ 6 cups / 1.5 liters) capacity is sufficient I like that this waist pack option allows for much more freedom of movement and therefore comfort. Besides the adjustable belt that secures the pack there are two straps towards the rear that act as compression straps that keep the content of the pack from bouncing / jostling too much, even while trail running. And their accessibility allows for easy adjustment while running / riding as the volume of the pack content shrinks. The wide mouth, quarter turn bladder cap makes for easy filling & cleaning, and the bladder hose / mouth piece incorporates a clip for securing to belt, shorts, shirt. A final small but nice touch are the clips built into the waist belt to hold/secure the extra, loose belt material in place.
Overall a well thought out piece of gear that is my go to hydration option for jaunts up to @ 3 hours.
