Backcountry.com’s Gearheads are your instant connection to gear knowledge. They’re passionate outdoor experts hell-bent on helping you find the right ski, saddle, or pro.

Here is some information about me. I moved to SLC from West Virginia in summer 2009. Moved here to experiencing the "world's best snow" and found much much more! I am overwhelmed with the climbing, hiking, snowshoeing, snowboarding, and backpacking this state has to offer! In the winter time, I am hunting for the white stuff, I typically ride Brighton resort and slack-country. Looking forward to my first split board season this coming winter! In the summer time, I enjoy anything outdoors, you can usually find me backpacking in the Uintas every weekend!

No stolen bikes with this lock, it really does the trick! I use this lock all the time and recommend it to anyone with a coil lock. The key hole is hidden which is a nice, tricky touch. Easy to use! Just don't loose the key!

This bag is very durable, it's super strong and can hold some weight without making your back uncomfortable. I really love the look of the Herschel bags, simple + classy. The laptop sleeve is great extra padding and protects my computer really well. The small pocket on the front of the bag fits my iphone 6+ with room for a few other small items.

I wear this shirt before and after working out. The fabric is fairy soft and the fit is loose. I grabbed the XS and it's defiantly a bigger fit. I usually wear with a shoulder showing and the sleeve falling down my arm. My only wish is that this shirt didn't have the zipper in the back. With the shirts loose fit, I feel the zipper is unnecessary. Overall I really like this shirt!

I really love all the Patagonia Nine Trails products, I love the soft, fast drying material and the true to size fit of these products. I'm 100 pounds and 5'2 in height and I purchased the XS small. The sizing is perfect so I defiantly think this product runs true to size. I've worn and washed these shorts over + over again, the durability seems very promising! So far, I'm really happy with this purchase. If you like the nine trail shorts, be sure to check out the skort version!

This water bottle is your typically plastic bottle. What's really nice about this bottle is the Competitive Cyclist logo and that you are able to freeze this bottle. I love the freeze feature on those really hot summer days. I've had this bottle for a long time and I haven't had any leaking issues, it still works great and is a go for my biking hydration!

I purchased these Vans Shady Lane sunnies as a backup pair in my car. I'm so glad I made these purchase, they have came in handy so many times. These fit great to my petite face shape and are super adorable on the face. I love the colors of the sunnies, they are nice, bright and bold! I've dropped these sunnies multiple times on the gravel and pavement and still I haven't seen any scratches on the lens yet. Overall, it was a great purchase!!
