Backcountry.com’s Gearheads are your instant connection to gear knowledge. They’re passionate outdoor experts hell-bent on helping you find the right ski, saddle, or pro.

Here is some information about me. I moved to SLC from West Virginia in summer 2009. Moved here to experiencing the "world's best snow" and found much much more! I am overwhelmed with the climbing, hiking, snowshoeing, snowboarding, and backpacking this state has to offer! In the winter time, I am hunting for the white stuff, I typically ride Brighton resort and slack-country. Looking forward to my first split board season this coming winter! In the summer time, I enjoy anything outdoors, you can usually find me backpacking in the Uintas every weekend!

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Fit: Runs small

This TNF Half Dome Pullover Hoodie is a perfect spring choice. The colors are so pretty! I wouldn't call the fit regular, it's a fitted cut. Very flattering shape. Normally I would get a XS, I sized up to Sm and still have that fitted shape. If you want a relaxed/baggy pullover than this is not a great choice. (My fav baggy pull over is the Burton Classic Moutain Recycled Hoodie) Very soft material in the inside keeps you warm. Material holds up after multiple washings. I got my first Half dome over two years ago and it's still my go to pullover. Hand kanagroo pocket is perfect for chilly fingers! This hoodie makes a killer gift for any lady!

Super FUN Board!
5 5

I am in love with my nugget, my favorite days on the nug consist of a lovely resort with 6-10 fluffy fresh pow! This board has really helped me get comfortable riding switch, the small twin shape really helps! The small shape really makes this board fun, it spins super easy! This board is perfect to learn switch/spins/tricks on then once you have the movement down, try on your normal sized board! This board does have a little loose feel to it but the float is amazing! It has a Flat Top profile, which blends a loose feel and tons of float with enough stability to charge just about anything. The sidecuts are nice especially if you do hit a crusty spot.

GUESS WHAT?! The board smells like fresh pine trees! I'm not kidding, this board is scratch and sniff! I have been shredding this board all season and pine smell still sticks to the board!

Fit: True to size

Goat apparel is my favorite! Anything with a BC goat on it and I'm in! I was extremely stoked on this shirt because the sizing is true to size, I suggest to stick to your normal shirt size for this Classic Goat T-shirt. The material is so soft and lightweight. The cotton-and-synthetic blend really makes the shirt durable and easy to wash! Mine didn't shrink at all during washing/drying! I love the purple heater color and for $21, it's the perfect shirt!

The breath-ability is probably my husbands favorite part of these boxers, the viscose/spandex material blend really wicks away moisture! The fabric remains very soft and comfortable against the skin! I suggest to keep to your normal size, fit is true to size. The fun colors and strips are another sweet bonus to these boxers. They are very lightweight which is another reason these boxers are perfect for any outdoor activity!

The first thing I noticed about these socks was the cushy feel they have while on your foot! They are nice and soft, keeping my foot very comfortable! This sock is a mid-weight, not good for those spring days! I was surprised at how warm these socks were! Great price and super fun colors!

The fit and quality were amazing! These pants are great for running, yoga, and climbing, they are also great for everyday wear. Durability is stellar so far, the pants are a thicker material and seems very strong. Stash pocket is so nice for your key while your working out! I grabbed the XXS thinking that the inseam would be 30 but the pants I received are a 32n inseam so they are a little long on me (5'3 shortie) but the comfortable is too great!
(Warning: the detailed photos are incorrect, the pants doesn't have the straight legged style)

I stuck with regular size when buying this jacket and I love the fit, it is a fitted piece and comes in a little at the waist. The fleece is a bit long too but again I think that's a good thing, especially for taller women. It's very warm and it's a soft fleece material. This would be a great layer piece or for clear cold nights, the fleece won't do good in rain. Very pretty colors, I love the rocket red and purple. Would be a lovely gift!
