Familiarity: I've used it several times
Fit: True to size
Height: 6' 1"
Weight: 200 lbs
Size Purchased: 34

Kuhl always puts out a quality product. These shorts are no exception. Very comfortable and I haven't put to much extreme wear on them but they appear built to last. The ONLY gripe I have which is very minor is the velcro on the back pockets is VERY grabby/solid. Makes it a little tricky to put get my wallet in and out. With that being said... I am very confident I will never have my wallet slide out by accident.

I'll be purchasing another paid of these shorts... different colour. Highly recommend!

Major Design Flaw - Can't recommend
2 5

Familiarity: I've used it several times

So I would have given this a 5 star until this last camping trip. From a functionality/design/usability standpoint I would give it a 5 as others HOWEVER after opening my pack this last camping trip...I found that the bottom had blown off and exposed a SERIOUS design flaw in this lantern. Basically to get the the batteries you unscrew the bottom cap however the bottom collar that this bottom cap screws into is only held onto the lantern at three extremely flimsy screw points that have minimal plastic to hold the whole collar on. In my case it looks like the lantern took a small it (IT WAS PACKED IN MY BAG WHEN THIS HAPPENED!!!) and the whole bottom collar broke off.
IF you decide to buy one... I would STRONGLY recommend that you put a bead of crazy glue along the inside collar to also re-enforce it as the screw/contact points as they exist currently are a joke. No offence Black Diamond I love your stuff but you need to give the engineer a talking to that designed this one.

I've attached a photo so you guys can see what I mean.

This board is killer...

Familiarity: I've used it several times

Can't believe I found a board that can charge so hard yet still turns on a dime! I paired it with some NOW IPO bindings and it's a deadly combo. I noticed right away that this board wants to go fast.. and PLAY fast unlike some other all-mountain "planks" that can be work to whip around. True twin nose and tail and asymmetrical sidecuts make riding this board a dream when riding switch. Pop is really good.. and it's a stiff all-mountain board kids... not some wet noodle park board.

Very happy with this board and IMO one of the best all-mountain freestyle boards out there. I don't do pipe yet but based on tech and how it performs... my guess would be that it would more than hold it's own in the pipe.

AWESOME bindings!

Familiarity: I've used it several times

Picked up a set of these at the toronto ski & snowboard show having never heard of this company prior to the show. Have to say I am blown away by these bindings. The edge control is amazing since the idea/tech behind these bindings is to put the pressure where it needs to go. There have been a lot of gimmicky bindings in the past (and present) but I firmly believe that these are a game changer. Hope NOW has their patents in place... lol!

Do yourself a favour and get yourself a set. They will def. take your game to the next level.

It's still early in the season but so far I'm very happy with the quality and build. Seems at this point they will be able to take some wear and tear for sure.

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I picked these up in the summer and used for x-country mountain biking and now that the snow is flying have used them snowboarding and done a tumbles at speed on both the bike and the board.

Let me begin by saying I contributed a femur to my snowboard sport and all I got in return was an titanium rod and some screws in my left leg in return so suffice to say.. when I land on my left hip.... I notice. This protection DOES make a major difference for me and I am very happy with it! One small complaint is that the tailbone protection pad can pop out when I'm just tossing the shorts around (i.e.: not wearing) however I have yet to have it slide out of place when I'm actually wearing. Hopefully in future versions then put on overlapping flap of material to prevent this one very small issue.

Overall.. very impressed and highly recommend. All POC armour is top notch but you pay for that quality. At the end of the day... can you really put a price on your health/protection?

Have had the chance to use these Hip Pads a few times now and am very happy with them. I've take a few small/medium hits and have been impressed by the protection. I'm looking forward to using them this winter as they will be replacing some Burton hip Shorts that frankly were garbage (mediocre protection and bad fit/would slip down). I'm a big believer in POC as I think they have some of the best stuff out there.

Worth the extra coin...

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I purchased this from back-country about 2 months ago for the 2012/2013 snowboard season. VERY happy with this product... as per other reviews.. do NOT put this on cold and it operates best when close to the body. Can't speak as to the breathability/heat as I've only been using for snow-sports where it's not an issue. I like the low-profile as I am able to wear it under my hoodie and it's barely noticeable which is nice when doing the Apres at the end of the day. I'm 6'1" and about 180 with longer limbs/slim build and it works great for me.... almost like it was a custom fit. POC... keep up the great work! Very impressed with your product!! I haven't taken to many nasty falls but the few falls that I have I've been happy with the protection!
