Jocie's Bio

Nerding out on snowboards and trail running shoes is my favorite part of my job. I spend as much time in the mountains as possible, whether it be mountain biking, trail running, hiking, snowshoeing, snowboarding or just prancing naked through the meadows of wildflowers.

Guys! Burton is NAILING IT!

Fit: Runs slightly small, order a size up if you are well endowed and want to button all the way up. Not over-tailored but still decently feminine
Quality: YES! I jumped over a fence and the bottom of my shirt got stuck and instead of ripping my shirt there was a tiny (tinsy) thread pull.

In the world of collard shirts, I would consider myself quite a connoisseur and the Burton Bristol just made my top 5!

I purchased the 'vanilla feather' and initially loved the weight. The shirt isn't too lightweight nor heavy and it is VERY well made. The cuffs have extra fabric and are very constructed so it is easy to roll up your sleeves or wear them down. The fit is more feminine than in the past but not too fitted.

My favorite part: goes from business to casual in one swoop! I paired it with a tailored green skirt and tights and looked like i could swing into an office then shot home and threw on some moto jeans : http://www.dogfunk.com/volcom-moto-super-stoned-skinny-denim-pant-womens?ti=UExQIENhdDpXb21lblwncyBEZW5pbSBQYW50czoxOjk6ZGZDYXQxMDAxNjU&skid=VLC00GY-VNBK-S0 and VIOLA!

This is a shirt. This is not a blazer. DARN!

I guess I was expecting a legit blazer, maybe more than a layer of fabric? I was way off. This is basically a glorified shirt ( an adorable glorified shirt). The fabric is thin, there is zero lining or construction throughout the 'blazer' but the collar is definitely 'blazer' style.

Don't get me wrong. THIS IS CUTE! Buuut, its not a blazer, and thats why I am giving it 2 stars.

A Travel YES!

Familiarity: I've used it several times

Okay, I could sit and tell you how rad this is from a backpacking/surfing/biking perspective but I'm going to hit on the travel aspect. I recently took the HitCase Pro for a spin at Disneyland and a beach day and I'm telling you, this is a must.

While living in Europe for 7 months and traveling around, my husband and I have 9 pictures of us TOGETHER... NINE! Why? because I hate taking time to pull out the camera and ask someone to take a picture for us and I don't like to put my phone/camera in harms way because they are both fragile!

Solution: HITCASE!!!

Pros: awesome lens, survived several drops in sand, stayed safe while getting soaked on Splash Mountain, super easy to use

Cons: If you don't keep the lens clean (which is easy) you'll get some weird lighting in your pictures just like regular cameras.

I instantly fell in love with these! I have brown hair with purple tips and the shell looked amazing against my hair BUT I was CRUSHED when I ran after my dog and the shell broke.

If I was a careful person and liked to be extra careful with my earrings, these would get 5 stars... but i'm not.

Familiarity: I gave it as a gift, but have feedback to share
Fit: True to size

My brother hikes around Ogden on a daily basis and I would cringe when he continually walked out the door with some Nikes that lacked a good support system and tread. I surprised him with the Eskape Aero and had him give them a try, in his opinion: "night & day difference". His feet are happier and the miles he is hiking has doubled without any pain in his legs.

You get a bang for your buck with these shoes. If you are one that likes to pick up and go, these shoes are perfect for you.

I had been on the trail a whopping half mile when I realized... ooo haiii Fell Raisers! I was pleasantly surprised by the comfort and stability of this shoe. The Fell Raiser last is really winning in my book right now.

Pros: Fit is true-er than last year's models, keeps heel secure, aggressive tread gives confidence, light & gives you Pocahontas like running form.
Cons: The lacing system gets frustrating when covered in mud & seems flimsier than last year.

Quality is decent but I am way stoked on the length. I like to prevent messes while camping/backpacking so reaching into my favorite backpacking meal and pulling out a hand full of goo & a fork half full of food kinda feels like nails on a chalkboard. You can imagine how exciting it was for me to inhale food quickly while keeping my hands all clean! (its all in the little things guys... especially while backpacking)

Pros: get rid of mess, carry less, lightweight & scale down small
Cons: easy to melt & possibility of snapping

For the price, you can't get much better than the Wilier GTS.

First Ride: I love the GORGEOUS build, light but sturdy frame design, insanely smooth ride, smooth Ultegra components and the Shimano RS21 wheelset. After not being on a bike for a couple years, I expected to be worn out quickly but the Wilier GTS made the first 20 miles a breeze even in a strong head-wind. I switched out the seat post with a zero offset carbon post but other than that, I will be keeping the bike just the way it is for quite some time.

Oh how I love the perfect marriage of comfort and style.
Favorite because:
-I am 5'10" and they are the perfect length
-I can fold them up to make a cute capri fit
-the cut and pocket position accentuate what I love and hide what I don't
-The colors are fantastic and work with several colors
-You can dress them up with a button up or dress them down with a slouchy tee, either way your pants look fantastic
-they are as comfortable as sweats

Not so Favorite:
-They stretch out quickly

Overall: MY FAVORITE CORDS!

I think I found my new favorite shoes! These babies are comfortable and can either be dressed up or dressed down. I am impressed by the construction. I was silly enough to break them in for the first time on a trip, I wouldn't suggest this. Break them in before you plan on wearing them for long.

Military inspired with a hint of punk-leather sleeves, this jacket will be the perfect addition to anyone's closet (I'm looking at you Marga!). The jacket is true to size, well made and highlights what is really "in" this fall.

The green in the photo is just a little brighter than the jacket really is, it is definitely more olive.
