North Texas (DFW)
These shorts have a great fit and kept cool on a long Texas summer ride. They are very comfortable and have a great pad. All in all a great short that does its job well.
Great heavy duty shorts that don't weigh you down. I like the pockets and the hook and loop tabs on the bottoms to close them up and keep them from snagging on your saddle or branches and whatnot. And the zip up vents on the front are great for when wearing them in that manner. One of the front pockets has a smaller zip up pocket just inside it for small items you'd rather not loose. The plastic buckle above the fly seems a little flimsy and unnecessary with the elastic in the back but if I really cared I'd just cut it off.
I love this jersey. It feels heavier than a normal jersey but it more than makes up for it in breathability. I took it on a nice long late afternoon ride and it was comfortable nice and cool the whole ride. The only sweat spot on it was under my water pack. As far as size goes I wear a medium shirt and jersey and this one fits a little on the loose side so I could probably get away with wearing a small. Despite feeling a little loose it still hangs well and looks good so it's no big deal.
On the roads and the trails these tires have exceeded my expectations as well as my abilities. I had to really lay into a turn on a loose gravel/dirt road before I felt the bike start to skid out and the only reason was to see what the failure point would have been. Likewise when climbing a short steep hill in soft dirt I had no chance of making it up anyway. I've also but at least 60 miles on them just on the roads and the tread barely shows any sign of wear so far. Installing them was a breeze and I measured the width with some calipers and they are true to size, if anything a little wider. At max pressure they were 2.25 inches. When the time comes I will be buying these tires again.
