My love of the outdoors came from skiing in Utah at Alta Ski Resort every weekend with my dad. I started when I was 5 and haven't quit. However since it is not always winter here in Utah during the summer I love to Climb, camp, hike and travel with my two favorite people in the whole entire world my boyfriend (Gearhead: Grant Kates) and our puppy Yuki.
Traveling is another passion of mine. I love wandering and getting lost in new cities and places. I have lived in Italy and Brazil. I have been all over Europe, South America and Asia. I spend a lot of time looking for new adventures everyday.
So everyone has a touring pole for their GoPro or whatever video device but what do you do with that second pole!?!?! Well with this guy you don't have to make an unnecessary purchase! This pole extends, Flips/flops and can be angled in any way for maximum film-ability! Also it's so light and compact that it's not a hassle to carry around either. I used it for climbing and felt like I was hauling up nothing on my ascent and it's super user friendly as well which makes it wayyy more appealing than some random ski pole. Also did I mention that if you are looking for a cool GoPro replacement get a hit case and xosiries makes a mount for it to so you can use both of them!!
CALLING ALL LADY CYCLISTS/TRAVELERS!!!
If you are looking for a cute, super functional and all around awesome purse LOOK NO FURTHER!! The Patagonia Atom Sling Bag is the one for you! I love this little guy he fits all the essentials, Wallet, Keys, phone, bike lock, lip balm and extra sweater (if needed)! I can't believe it took me this long to find this bugger (Props and Kudos to Fellow Gearhead Cory D.). I am so happy I have. It has all the room, with separate pockets to keep everything organized, that I need to go to my local event/concert/market etc. via bike and keep my hands free! I wish I had this pack while I was living in Italy too! It would have been perfect for all my traveling needs. A feature for the cyclists out there it has a waist strap so it doesn't move around on you when you are peddling extra fast to get to where you need! Did I also mention the main strap has a clip on it so you can take it off and on in a literal (not figurative) snap?! The mesh backing helps dry quickly as well when sweat comes into play as well. I have the Dark Currant color and it's so beautiful! Just as pictured it's a deep wine color and the accent pick zippers just make it that much more cuter!Truly another awesome product made by Patagonia! Bravo and I can't wait to tell all my friends about it...oh wait I have! hahaha
Hurley is doing awesome with their shorts. I have three different pairs of shorts by them and they are all stellar! I can't believe how light they are and soft. Normally I'm used to shorts feeling like a plastic bag but these are super soft and light! The built in mesh underwear looked sketchy at first but man do they feel great! Breath-ability is not an issue nor is staying dry. If you want a great short to work out in, Climb, hike, yoga and run in these are the best!
I love these shorts. They are the most comfortable compression shorts I've ever owned. You can seriously use them for just about anything. They are soft, don't ride up and dry really fast. I use them to climb, run, play volleyball in or just to lounge around the house when it's too hot but you have roommates so you can't walk around the house naked. I really enjoy these shorts the pattern on the sides is kind of weird but other than that I love them!
So if you've read any of my other reviews about Prana you know that I love them with all my heart! They truly understand what women who climb need in clothing. These shorts are thin, water resistant and stretchy. They dry super fast when sweating and not to mention they are not too short to wear a harness with. I'm always looking for shorts to climb but most of the time they are too short but these ones are bomber! I got the size small and they are a bit loose but I don't mind since I wanted the extra room to be comfy in. If you are looking for a more slim look I would size down.
So I first bought an Atom LT last winter. It is my favorite jacket for around town, Touring, hiking/camping and climbing. It's really the most versatile thing ever! If I had the money I'd buy all the colors that I want (let me tell you I want a lot of them). I purchased my second one because I bought the first one in a size medium for the extra length but I found that it was a bit baggy and I would rarely wear anything under it because it kept me so warm as a standalone. So I got a size small and I love it! It fits perfect everywhere and I look forward to using it in the fall! I am truly satisfied with this jacket that I would recommend it to any one that is looking for an all around kick ass insulated layer.
I really do like this top but it's not built for girls with boobs. Sorry ladies. So I got a Small as the sizing chart indicated and I'm a 34B pretty average if you ask me and the bottom band is WAY too tight! I mean it holds the bra in place but it dug into my skin and was a little uncomfortable. Also the actual bra is not a bra it's just fabric that offers no coverage of the nipply bits and so your friends can poke out and say "HI" If you get this make sure to wear a sports bra (if you can get the band to go over it) as a back up. I do have to say that the cut and fabric are awesome. Dries super fast, really soft and is flattering but man! it's a pain in the butt to get on and off. I said true to size because the cut of the actual tank top is on but the bra is wayyyyy off.
So if you are wondering what to get Dear SO-and-SO a birthday present and don't know what to get them. Seriously get them a pair of these and not only will their feet thank you but they will too! These are by far the best gift idea I have had! I have gotten a couple pairs of these for family and they love them! My mom for example travels to Hawaii a lot so these are perfect for her to walk around the house or town. Also the yoga mat material makes it comfortable all day long! I have a pair of the Yoga Mat Primo Sandal and they are very similar in comfort although I do have to say that I think that these have a thicker sole so they are just that much more comfortable and will last longer!
So I had the 3-4 finger glove but found that it was too large and also my finger tips would occasionally get burned while rappelling. So I decided to get a size smaller and a full finger glove. What a difference! can't feel the hot through the glove and my finger tips are not getting burned by the rope either! Not to mention it doesn't take a lot of gripping of the rope to stop movement. I'm really happy with this glove and would recommend getting a size smaller than what the size chart calls for. My palm circumference is 7.5 and the xs is perfect!
I love this set. It has everything you will need for any type of rock cleaning emergency. If you are looking for a on site for a problem but all the holds are chalked up no worries! This brush set has all you need for that! I love how versatile this set is. Not to mention the fact that you get multiples of the red brushes so you don't have to keep buying a replacement. Also the variety of stiff brushes and soft brushes really makes it so you have the right brush for the right situation. BD has always made amazing climbing equipment and their accessories are not exception.
I love these shorts! If you are looking for a good Yoga short these are the ones to get! Also they are super comfy to climb in. they are high waist and I personally like having the support in the core, If you don't, I wouldn't recommend these shorts.
The main thing I want to focus on is the lightness and breathability that they have. They feel like they are not clingy when you start to sweat and they dry super fast! No more swim suit sensation when you are working up a sweat. Not to mention they are super flattering in the butt area too. I have the dress blue color and they are true to color and I'm a waist size 24 and the smalls are perfect!
So I love this bra great for wearing under a tank top but not as a stand alonne. If you are looking for a good stand alone bra get the Patagonia Active Mesh Bra (http://www.backcountry.com/patagonia-active-mesh-bra-womens) As far as support this bra is great. Also the thin-ness is there to help with breathing. So you don't have a sopping wet bra if you sweat a lot. It also is a great choice for those racer back tanks that you just don't have a bra for. I am a 34 B and the small fits great!
So I got these as a gift for my amazingly talented boyfriend Pictured below (Grant Kates) and he loves them. He loved them so much he bought them in two other colors just so he could wear a pair when the others are being washed. It's rather hilarious! He loves how light and breathable they are. Also how much stretch they have to allow better movement while climbing. They look great for causal events and for outdoor activities. They are truly a diverse pair of shorts and I think they are a perfect gift for any outdoorsy guy! He's a 32 waist and the size Small fits him perfect.
So I love these shorts. I use them to Golf, Hike, Climb and work. they are super light weight. Water just beads right off them and they are breathable. You don't feel like you are wearing a board short because they don't cling or suffocated the skin. They dry fast and keep you dry and the length is stellar I don't mind showing off leg but not too much. On me it hits about 5" above the knee when standing. I love prana and this short is no exception either! I highly recommend them to any active lady. I have the Black Flora color and it is adorable. I am 5'4" with a 25 waist and the XS fits perfectly!

So if you've read my review on the Primrose harness I love BD harnesses. The Ethos is by far has the best fit and comfort that I have seen so far. A lot of people are like "Jane, It doesn't have adjustable leg loops? won't the Leg loops slip and slide? and will they fit over my huge skier legs?" Well to answer that I say "Hey So-and-So You'll be fine! the leg loops are tight enough if you go off of the leg measurement rather than the waist. Also if you are on multi pitches you don't want to have some nasty buckles digging into your leg " If you prefer adjustable leg loops then I wouldn't recommend this harness but if you are looking for something for longer sends/multi-pitches then this is your harness. Not to mention the look of the harness is super Chic and not in your face bright color gal our.
To get into the more techincal side the belay loop is B-U-R-L-Y. That thing is not going anywhere. also the gear loops are super accessible and keep everything nice and organizes too. The Foam that they use as well is really comfy and breathable. I tend to stay dryer while climbing with this harness. Also the leg loops are so nice to just sit in as well so if I don't have a belay station I can just sit on it while belaying or fall on a route and not worry. I really encourage people to take a look and consider this harness. It's my favorite ever!
