Jane Hwang's Bio

My love of the outdoors came from skiing in Utah at Alta Ski Resort every weekend with my dad. I started when I was 5 and haven't quit. However since it is not always winter here in Utah during the summer I love to Climb, camp, hike and travel with my two favorite people in the whole entire world my boyfriend (Gearhead: Grant Kates) and our puppy Yuki.
Traveling is another passion of mine. I love wandering and getting lost in new cities and places. I have lived in Italy and Brazil. I have been all over Europe, South America and Asia. I spend a lot of time looking for new adventures everyday.

Familiarity: I gave it as a gift
Fit: True to size

My brother recently graduated from Medical school and will be moving to DC where the winters can be pretty cold. I wanted to get him something more than just a tie and so I decided to get him this. To show that I REALLY care LOL. I personally have not just one but TWO of the women's version and love them and thought that this would be a good jacket for those cold east coast winters. HE LOVES IT! He is ecstatic to come to Utah to test it against our winter versus the east this x-mas. If you are looking for the gift that keeps on giving warmth, then this is your jacket. He is 5'9" and about 140-50 and the medium fits him perfectly. It is more trim cut so you can only really layer with a light sweater under it. Also the Posidon color is gorgeous!

If you are looking for a great Flannel this Fall GET THIS ONE! It actually has some back bone to it and can keep you warm. I love the deep red and black plain pattern on it. It is slimming as well so you actually look like a lady and are not boxed out. I am 5'4" and 110 lbs and the small fit me perfectly.

I love this Skirt. I specifically bought it for my trip to Hawaii that I will be taking in January but couldn't wait to wear it. I wore it to a friends house for brunch and got so many compliments. For a shorter gal its not that long either! So you don't nee to be a super model to wear it. The slip is so nice to have since the skirt does separate to show some leg however it does occasionally ride up so I had to pull it down every once in a while. The gold detail on the draw strings are super cute and accent this skirt perfectly. I'm 5'4" 110lbs and the small fits! Other than the one problem I have very happy with this skirt. Casual and sexy.

Took this baby camping so that we could have music during our down time. It lasted the whole trip (4 days) and only needed to be charged once. I'm incredibly amazed with the sound quality. It's small and pack-able which I enjoyed the most but has a huge sound. I highly recommend this little gem if you want a quality speaker. Also the connectivity is awesome and it is 100% user friendly. I also use it to play music in the shower, while cooking, cleaning, studying and parties. Its waterproof so if your friend accidentally spills a beer or water or whatever liquid on it, Your speaker is safe and sound! Outdoor Tech is a great company too. They back up all their product so if you ever have issues hit them up and they will totally help you out!

Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

So I haven't yet taken this baby out on a ski tour yet since its not winter. However I have worn it on some cold fall nights and it does awesome! It was stiff at first but giving it an initial wash really helped. Climbing outside in this shirt is perfect for those cold fall days in the mountains. This top would do well camping and hiking as well. It not only kept me warm but dry and that is always super important especially when dealing with the cold. Not only does it have outdoor uses it can be worn as a casual piece as well. Paired with some cute jeans you can totally rock this at a get together. The fit is super cute and slimming. I'm 5'4" 120lbs and the size Small is perfect. If you want it to be "to the skin" I would suggest getting the XS. I highly recommend this top to the ladies out there who are looking for an awesome base layer for the fall/winter. I look forward to using it in the winter and will update my review when I fully test drive this top out.

So everyone has a touring pole for their GoPro or whatever video device but what do you do with that second pole!?!?! Well with this guy you don't have to make an unnecessary purchase! This pole extends, Flips/flops and can be angled in any way for maximum film-ability! Also it's so light and compact that it's not a hassle to carry around either. I used it for climbing and felt like I was hauling up nothing on my ascent and it's super user friendly as well which makes it wayyy more appealing than some random ski pole. Also did I mention that if you are looking for a cool GoPro replacement get a hit case and xosiries makes a mount for it to so you can use both of them!!

CALLING ALL LADY CYCLISTS/TRAVELERS!!!
If you are looking for a cute, super functional and all around awesome purse LOOK NO FURTHER!! The Patagonia Atom Sling Bag is the one for you! I love this little guy he fits all the essentials, Wallet, Keys, phone, bike lock, lip balm and extra sweater (if needed)! I can't believe it took me this long to find this bugger (Props and Kudos to Fellow Gearhead Cory D.). I am so happy I have. It has all the room, with separate pockets to keep everything organized, that I need to go to my local event/concert/market etc. via bike and keep my hands free! I wish I had this pack while I was living in Italy too! It would have been perfect for all my traveling needs. A feature for the cyclists out there it has a waist strap so it doesn't move around on you when you are peddling extra fast to get to where you need! Did I also mention the main strap has a clip on it so you can take it off and on in a literal (not figurative) snap?! The mesh backing helps dry quickly as well when sweat comes into play as well. I have the Dark Currant color and it's so beautiful! Just as pictured it's a deep wine color and the accent pick zippers just make it that much more cuter!Truly another awesome product made by Patagonia! Bravo and I can't wait to tell all my friends about it...oh wait I have! hahaha

Hurley is doing awesome with their shorts. I have three different pairs of shorts by them and they are all stellar! I can't believe how light they are and soft. Normally I'm used to shorts feeling like a plastic bag but these are super soft and light! The built in mesh underwear looked sketchy at first but man do they feel great! Breath-ability is not an issue nor is staying dry. If you want a great short to work out in, Climb, hike, yoga and run in these are the best!

I love these shorts. They are the most comfortable compression shorts I've ever owned. You can seriously use them for just about anything. They are soft, don't ride up and dry really fast. I use them to climb, run, play volleyball in or just to lounge around the house when it's too hot but you have roommates so you can't walk around the house naked. I really enjoy these shorts the pattern on the sides is kind of weird but other than that I love them!
