I have used this bag on two trips to lakes that were still frozen and the open water on the lake edge froze solid overnight (estimate about 27 F). By keeping the hooded part of the bag on and making full use of the draft collar I was able to stay comfortable. I am NOT a warm sleeper (have to wear socks to bed and 2 quilts all winter at home). Knowing my poor cold tolerance I did wear extra clothing and socks to sleep in. This bag also stuffs very small and has a great compression sack included. Only con is that the bag seems small for an average size person. I am only 5'1" and about 20 lbs overweight and it is just about the right size for me.
