I'm not an ultralight nut, but for $27, you'd be crazy not to buy this pot. Using this with a supercat stove and a dinky foil windscreen got 2 cups of water to a rolling boil in 5:25 (summer, not at altitude) which keeps me plenty happy and has room to improve with a better windscreen. I think the sideburner alcohol stove might be a better option for this size pot because it will increase the heated surface area. This kettle isn't as light as a beer can one (but still damn light), but as the previous reviewer mentioned, I can use this over a wood fire and not have to worry about it melting. Or getting crushed in my pack. I was worried that the mesh bag would be useless, but it turns out to be a little thicker, like spacer mesh, so it will in fact keep the soot from getting all over my stuff. Good buy, couldn't be happier.
