I wear this a lot: hiking, running, layering, going to class, etc. I'm able to for two reasons:
1). it's a well made piece of clothing that looks good and performs well.
2). it doesn't stink after adventuring in it so I just throw it on again instead of throwing it in the laundry.

6'2" 180 and the large fits well.

Sure thing. However, I would make sure to take them into a ski shop where they have all of the right tools and know-how. Most XC-ski shops will only charge about 10$ for a mounting fee. The new boots and bindings are so much nicer than the 3-pin stuff, but the initial investment to new boots and bindings can sometimes be a little pricy.

If you mean take them off of your foot: you simply press down on the front button (on automatic models like these) and step out.If you mean take them off your ski: you need a screwdriver, but I'd recommend getting bindings mounted at a ski shop because they know what they're doing, have all the gear, and sometimes they'll even do it for free if you're getting new bindings put on.

I demoed a ton of shoes from lots of different vendors at a climbing festival, and this was by far the best. It really hugs your foot and arch without digging into your achilles tendon (like I find the scarpa booster does). There is a little stiffening plate in the toe that helps with edging but it doesn't sacrifice feel for the rock. The heel hook rail doesn't do much as far as I can tell but it doesn't detract either. I'm a big fan.
