As mentioned, a good scenario for using this jacket would be a "just in case" scenario where even light precipitation is expected. Summer backpacking?

I use this on rainy days to get from the car to the front door.

I wore it on a hike in the rain once (Humboldt County rain) and after about 3 hours it was beginning to leak through. I value this as a learning experience, and for my more exposed adventures such as multi-day backpacking I will be purchasing gore-tex.

They were comfortable boots and very lightweight, but not built for real use. After 30 miles of trail they de-laminated. After 60 miles of trail, they were not waterproof which was quite annoying when hiking through snow above treeline. I camped with cold wet feet for the first time in years.
Customer service was good and i got a new pair, though I wish I could get my money back and buy some real boots.
