Eric's Bio

I live every day of the year looking forward until the next powder day that I get to rip the slopes up with my Blizzards. Nothing drives me more than a good 3 feet.

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

The Deadbolt 18/ Thunderbolts from 4FRNT/Tyrolia/Head are the most rock solid pair of bindings a man can buy for $400. I rock them hard at 16 and they have yet to pre-release me into the scary terrain that I ride. I've even had a heel piece rip out of the ski before the binding agreed to let go of my boot. Now it is a little heavy because of its full metal construction, but hey, what binding that goes to 18 DIN is going to be as light as a feather? It is similar in weight to a pair of Look/Rossignol PX 18s that I have.

Bottom line: If you're set on going big instead of going home, get this binding.

Bought a pair of these in the 2010-2011 season and they rip so hard. A fairly stiff ski, but if a shell of ice to two feet of powder is your norm skiing condition, these are the skis for you. Very responsive, switch and straight, in the trees and out. Takes the moguls and bumps like a pro, and the magnetraction edges definitely make a noticeable difference on ice where I know I would have slid across. Hucks cliffs like there is no tomorrow, and the rocker helps significantly.Top sheet is not the most durable out there, I'd give it a 6 out of ten, but quality-top sheet durability ration of the ski is well worth the trade off.
