Gone Fishing's Bio

I would rather be in the woods than about anywhere. My wife and I both love the outdoors and take advantage of it whenever we can. We are very active including weight lifting, hiking, biking, kayaking, climbing and spending time with our dogs.

Most of the other positive reviews cover all the aspects of this fine jacket. It fits kind of boxy but this is a must have for warmth and comfort. I like to use it as a layer under my technical shell and it is very warm for the weight ratio. I got the Grecian Blue color on a clearance sale and have been very happy with it.

This waterproof case does what it is designed to do, protect your camera from the elements or underwater use. The case seals tight and your mount set-up is the same on the case as the camera. The record switch is a magnet and the switch does not actually move. There is also a ON/OFF button in the back of the case for controlling your camera.

One huge benefit that isn't usually discussed is wind noise. This unit elimates wind noise for use on the bike or motorcycle.

This bag will fit most snowshoes up to 25" long. It has a carry handle and shoulder strap for easy handling. One of the best features, it has straps for your trekking poles making it super easy to transport your gear. Keeps the crampons on your snowshoes from ruining your other equipment during transport.

These work ok if you have a very flat surface to mount them to. You can buy extra adhesive pads so if you want to move them or share it you can. The surface must be clean and little to no curves or it will not adhere to it.

My wife and I both own crampons and they work fantastic. The problem is they are harder to put on and sometimes bulky and overkill for icy trails. My son bought a couple pair of the older models and I was impressed with how well they worked. I rarely wear my crampons anymore and use these instead.

They are easy to put on, lightweight and grip great on ice, rocks and mixtures on the trails. I wear 11.5 (45 in La Sportivas) in my boots and the Large fit fine with plenty of stretch left.

This light is awesome and is rated at 200 lumens. It is bright enough to mountain bike and shines brightly. The downside it the weight, with 4AA batteries it is heavy and on the MTB it tends to bounce around because of the weight. If you can live with the almost 10 ounces it is a fantastic light. It is waterproof and the housing tilts for just the right angle of light.

The looks and specs of this knife are very close to the X-Ray model that is a hot seller. If you can find one of these as a closeout or bargain you should give it a try. This is a knife you can trust! It is durable, smooth and the blade holds an edge for a long time. The blade locks in place with almost no lost motion and it is partially serrated for cutting tough objects. You can deploy this blade with either hand and the clip is moveable for left or right handers.

I have other brands of knives but if I had to pick one brand it would be SOG because of their quality.

I have this knife in the Aluminum and Zytel handle and both are very dependable knives. The zytel drops the weight by about 25% and make it much easier to stash in your pocket. The blades are durable and hold an edge very well. I have carried mine for several years and never had a problem with either one of them. I don't really understand the review about the "cheap plastic handle" as this thing is about as rugged as you can get. It has been dropped, bounced around a backpack and still looks new.

The supplied clip makes this knife very easy to carry and it is barely visible in your pocket.
