Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Ive worn these gloves for about 3 years and am finally retiring them.

Pros:
- Great fit/comfort,
- Bombproof leather
- Low profile, easy to use cuffs and wrist straps
-Great dexterity,
- The mini beiner and loops make it easy to clip to the pants.

Cons:
- The insulation material immediately starts to compress, losing a lot of the insulation (especially the finger tips). Understandably, its not a super cold weather glove but I expected the insulation to last a bit longer. I definitely recommend buying on the large side in order to prevent the compression.
- The waterproofing started to fade after a few uses. The wax worked at first but by the end of the second season, I had to reapply every powder day to prevent the leather from soaking. They rarely soak through to make my hands wet, but the soaked leather would often freeze, making the palm slick and very hard to hold ski poles.

Fit: True to size
Height: 6' 2"
Weight: 180 lbs
Size Purchased: 11

I'm about to pick up my 2nd pair after 2 years of daily use on my first pair. They maintained their support, waterproofing, tread and comfort for everything I threw at it. 4 rounds of disk golf a week, 35 of the NH 4000fts, backpacking trips, trail runs, gym shoes and yard work.

I will say they run a bit narrow in the toe tip, but broke in nicely without compromising the material strength or my pinky-toe.

My current ones are finally feeling the miles so its time to replace them for a new pair. If your looking for a shoe that will protect and carry you anywhere, theses are the ones!

Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Just took my 188s out for the first time and was completely blown away! Unbelievably stable at speed, with great carving abilities once you get used to the camber in the back seat. For having so much rocker and width, the tips were easily maneuverable and didn't knock around nearly as much as I thought they would. And boy do these things love getting in the air! The stiffer tail just grabs the landing and plops you right back into a stable position. Skied 6"of soft stuff and some deeper crustier stuff for a few turns and didn't have any issues with flotation or control. Couldn't imagine anything but great floatation and planing in deeper snow.

My only complaint is that they're not exactly nibble and really had a hard time in the bumps even for a super wide powder ski.

I can honestly say my first day out on these was my best performing day on skis. It felt like I was driving a Baja racing truck. Just wanted to go big and fast.
