Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Fit: True to size
So I bought this pair of shoes about a year ago, and most defiantly fell in love with them. From the easy slip and draw of the laces to the rugged fit and feel, to the darn right down and dirty waterproof capabilities of this shoe. The shoe fit perfect I wear a 11.5 and no joke it was a 11.5 when I got it, it is a little bit wider of a shoe but other than that nothing to gripe about. Wear and tear. I have used these for just about everything honestly winter long distance running to just chilling in the airport terminal. The wear and tear of these shoes will be and can only be based off of the user I have put mine through the ringer and still are. The shoe will hold up but when hiking or doing some serious running they will of course start to break down. My pair broke down after about 6 months hard time, and by that I mean the hot spots of the shoe i.e. the points where the laces rub, the heel, and the souls. The lacing seemed to just rope burn the out side of the shoe leaving small holes that to began to fray and catch twigs on the occasional trek, however though some shoe goo did the fix. The next spot was the inside of the heel, due to bad habits slipping into these shoes did not help but also just every day use and long hours broke it down fraying occurred which lead to a larger hole. The souls were the final small issue after beating the hell out of this pair the damage is very apparent when propping your feet up the back heel wore out the quickest due to rolling my feet but even then the soul just seemed like it was disappearing to quick. In the end the shoe is great I love the simplicity of it, it offers that athletic edge but also offers the casual hey im here to get a beer and chill with some friends vibe. So if you buy this shoe I would be willing to say its money very well spent.
