These gloves truly look great. The outside of the fingers are lined with armor to protect you from brush and abrasions. There is one love/hate feature about the Explorer. They are cold-weather gloves, and intended mainly for cooler to freezing temperatures. At the peak of my rides on hotter days, I sweated more in my gloves then in my actual helmet. After the second sunny ride, I was tempted to poke a hole for ventilation. However, over some break-in time, it was unnoticeable that I was sweating in them. Overall, wonderful pair of gloves.
I scored one of these bad boys when it was on sale for $50. I was so happy I did. The jacket has great insulation but feels great even under the sun. It also has an unorthodox look to it so you have people always looking. Great riding jacket!
This specific model from Dainese gives you good front and side shin protection and full knee coverage. I ordered the Large size Racing Knee Guards. There are there are four velcro straps: a small one above the knee and a small one below the knee for the elastic mesh, a main center strap also below the knee over the small strap and another main one above the ankle. From above my knee to my ankle is 19 in. My leg circumference is 22 in. above the knee 15 in. under the knee and 9.5 in. above the ankle. My thigh is rather large compared to others so the top strap is a little snug when engaged. To alleviate this minor issue, I cruise around with it disengaged. If I start going downhill or faster, Ill strap it on. The two lower main straps are very adjustable. Surprisingly or not I am looking forward to going down with these on. They feel very strong but remain quite breathable.
