After using this helmet a few times this season I would like to say, "this thing is the best." I know there are more technical helmets out there, but the simplicity of this helmet makes it awesome. As I'm sure you have read it is super light (the lightest helmet on the market), this makes wearing it a breeze. My previous helmet was last year's Giro G9. Good helmet and fit, i just never felt comfortable wearing it. Now if you are coming from not wearing a helmet to start with the Maze you are definately going to notice it, but if you have been wearing a helmet switching to this will be a dream. I suggest going to a shop and trying on smith helmets just to make sure you get the right size. Hope this helps!

Currently I ski 169cm @85mm K2 Silencer. At speed they feel unstable. Ready to step it up. Not sure if 186 is to long. Mostly groomed runs, but planning on venturing off piste with these skis or another(open to recomendations). Not purchasing till Jan. '12

Is the SFBacon a ski that an intermediate can grow and improve his skills on? Should I go with something not as wide? I really would like a ski I can ride for the next few years. So, I expect my ability to reach advanced sooner than later and don't want to waste my $ on something I'm going to quickly grow out of. HELP!!! 6'1" 185lbs intermediate. Live in Reno, Ski Tahoe....

You are correct. The Atomic Theory has Adaptive Rocker Technology. When ski is weighted, there is rocker in the tip. No tail rocker in this ski. Backcountry needs to change this description because it makes a big difference.
