Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I love my Silca Super Pista pump. It recently stopped holding pressure so I took it apart and discovered the leather plunger cup had deformed on one side. Also the original plastic washer had cracked, probably causing the failure . I got a new metal washer the same size from my toolbox , threaded on the new leather plunger, greased it up, bolted it back on and I'm back in business. I love things that are rebuildable and come out as good as new!

Fit: Runs small

This is a great looking cap. I'm a cycling cap collector and I love the material and style of this one. As all the other reviewers have said, it runs quite small. I wear a size small hat anyway and I like a snug fit to minimize wrinkles, but it was still a bit tight around the headband on me. I am one for making things that I like work out by customizing if I have to. I solved the tightness problem by taking some sharp pointed sewing scissors and carefully making about 6 small vertical snips in the inner elastic in the back, being careful to not cut the outer fabric layer or the stitching. This relieved some of the tension of the super-tight back elastic and it is now one of my favorite caps!

Familiarity: I've used it several times

I got into cycling in the late 60s and 70s. This little book brings back all the feelings and energy of learning to love the ride. My favorite passage so far: "The difference between cycling and flight is that cycling is possible and flight still isn't."

The illustrations are fantastic!

Far better than anything I have used before. This thing lights up the road like crazy. Perfect for my 5:30 am commute. As I compare the illumination on the road with neighboring cars, it looks like about the same light output. Excellent!

Very well made, good sole coverage and durable walking surface. The neoprene material looks sleek and is completely waterproof. Excellent for my commuting use. Strong zipper, great reflective details for night riding. SIZING RUNS SMALL. I followed the chart for sizing recommendations and had to return them for the next size up. Even at that they aren't any too big. These will be great for winter commuting.

This is a great hat for under a helmet or all by itself. Super windproof, water repellent and just the right amount of insulation on those frosty rides. An essential for winter commuting. The brim fends off precipitation of all forms. One full winter of use so far - this is one of my favorite pieces.
