Fit: True to size

I've been curious about the Salomon shoes for a while and recently tried these as my first pair and I have to say I really like them. Excellent grip in wet and dry conditions, wonderful feel on my feet, they just make me want to run and move in them. The lacing system took a little getting used to but I've grown to like it. Although my experience has not shown them to be completely waterproof, I still really like them and will explore more Salomon shoes based on this first experience.

Hi Andy - I've worn Sportiva's Quantums for a while now and recently tried these Salomon's and have to say I really think they are both solid, quality trail running shoes. Neither are great for road running (not made for that) but they're both really great on the trail. A couple differences I've noticed: the Salomon's do seem to grip a bit better in the wet and muddy conditions. However, the Sportiva's seem to provide a bit more mid-foot stability, if that is important to you. Lastly, the Salomon's feel like they have a greater drop than the Sportiva's. I can't say definitively because I cannot find the drop information for the Sportiva's and am going just on how they feel. Bottom line though is I do think they're both good and it's a matter of personal preference and I would say you should give the Salomon's a try and see what you think.

I've run quite a bit in these and found them to be comfortable from the get-go and no break-in time was required. Even though they have a little more cushion than I usually prefer they do have a nice light spring to them which I like. I think they're a solid running shoe.

These shoes are comfortable from the very beginning, needed very little break-in time. I've run in them quite a bit and have decided they're a little more cushion than I really prefer, but would recommend in particular if you like a softer/cushioned feel. I now mostly use them for walking around and in that regard they work for me.

I've had this vest several weeks now and overall I like it. It's very lightweight, has a good warmth to bulk ratio and it looks good too. I purchased it when it was 50% off ($59) and for that price I'm happy, although I think I would have been a little disappointed had I paid full price. I wear it alone sometimes or it fits nicely under a shell. I'm 6'1", 175 lbs and size Medium fits me well. It has a more athletic fit which I like.

I was looking for a lightweight and highly visible jacket for my night riding. I thought for the sale price I'd give this a try. It is light, packs down next to nothing and looks good. The only problem is that the back pockets are open/not zippered and are lined with a mesh fabric, so if it rains the water can run down your back and wet you through the mesh lining. So while I don't recommend in heavy rain, it works fine it light rain or mist. I'm mostly fine with this because I didn't really buy it for the waterproofness anyway. A note about the sizing: I usually order up a size in cycling gear because I think it runs small but for this jacket I wish I'd have gotten my 'real' size Medium. I'm 6' and 175 lbs.

I purchased this jacket in red on sale and really like it. It's super lightweight, folds up next to nothing, and is just right for those slightly chilly or windy days. I don't think it really provides much protection in the rain, maybe super light mist or something, but not rain. That's OK though because I have other rain jackets and I look forward to continuing to get a lot of good use from this jacket on dry, cool, and windy days.

This is my first pair of La Sportiva shoes and I thought I'd try them because of a good sale price, so they weren't purchased with a specific task in mind. First off they are super comfortable, hug my feet and fit like a glove. They do run small and narrow though and I'd suggest ordering a half size up. They provide a bit more cushion than I'm used to but am adapting and like the way they work on dry terrain, be it dirt trails, rock, or whatever. I do find that they don't feel nearly as stable though in wet conditions. So I plan to focus using them when it's dry and expect to get lots of good use from them.

I have the green (with white zippers) and it looks good and performs really well. It's has a lot of stretch and since I planned on using it for aerobic activities, I ordered a size down and it's just right. For those guys with long arms that are afraid to order down a size, don't worry, the sleeves are plenty long and have a lot of stretch. Good as a mid-layer insulating piece in cold conditions or also outer piece down to I'd say about the mid 40's.

I've been a fan of performace wool for many years now and have always preferred Icebreaker due to their more 'athletic' cut and fit. I saw this top at a local retailer and tried it on and really like it. The fabric of course is super-nice but the fit is much closer to the body and fits like a baselayer should. I'm 6'1", 175 lbs and a Medium fits me well, I think I may buy another one.

I just bought my second and third of this shirt a few months back and after having worn them quite a bit, I can say that it's really a nice product. For the sale price in particular it can't be beat. It's my year 'round go to running shirt. I really like the cut and fit, as well as the little design details Stoic has added. I'm 6'1", 180 lbs and the size Large fits me well.

Hi Eric - I wear mine to run in all the time, short sleeve in the summer and long sleeve in the winer. No itch, no funky smell, and for me it's much more pleasant next to the skin than the synthetics. It does a good job of transporting moisture away from the body but during high aerobic activity in warm weather it will retain sweat, but then again all of my synthetics do too. Ben above is correct in that it won't dry post-workout as fast as the synthetics, but for me it more than makes up for that in all of the other qualities, especially general comfort. It may not be for everyone, but if you haven't yet tested the new performance wool you REALLY should give it a try.

Never really preferred this type of hat before but what I think makes this one work for me is the 'perforated' brim. I think it accounts for the better fit, it just feels better and I think looks better on. It buttons rather than snaps, which I like. The fleece lining isn't too bulky that it makes your head look huge, but is enough to provide sufficient warmth. Can recommend this item and the only reason I'm not giving it that 5th star is because it's double-branded, on both the front and the back, that's my own little pet peeve, otherwise it's a winner.

My first pair of KUHL pants and I am surprised by just how much I'm liking them. The fabric and construction really are incredibly comfortable as of the first wearing, and of quality. From the reinforced pockets and hems, articulated construction, functional snap closure, inside pant description, it's clear that a lot of thought went into developing this product. I feel the sizing is accurate and highly recommend them.
I do have one small reservation/suggestion and am reluctant to bring it up because I really do like these pants, but I'm not into 'label's and would have preferred a little less branding. These are branded three times - the small front tab, back pocket embroidery and back belt loop logo. Otherwise, they are nearly perfect!

Sometimes it just seems like folks disappointment with their online products stems from the fact that they just don't read the item descriptions thoroughly. The 'Bottom Line' on this product clearly states 'Lightweight protection from the sun'. Yet folks complain when the item arrives and it's actually lightweight and they 'thought' it should be 'more substantial'. I bought this hat for use on the beach, in the backyard whether I'm gardening or barbecuing, or just walking around town, and for those activities it is just right. Because the fabric is lightweight the brim does take on that worn, kind of crumpled shape/look, which is nice and different from my many other sun hats.

I've had these shorts a couple weeks now and so far think they're pretty great. They really are super lightweight, moves well with the body, fabric seams reasonably durable, and they look great too. I can wear them hiking, mountain biking, and then around town too. I think the pockets are actually just right because they are close to the body and smallish; additional and larger pockets would make the shorts heavier and not as comfortable nor as 'fluid' during highly aerobic activities. If I really need to bring that much stuff with me I'll use my Amphipod Belt or running pack, etc. I'm a 32-33" waist and the size L fits well. Would recommend these shorts!

I already own full length IB leggings which I love and thought I'd try these for skiing. Great not only for skiing but for just about any other activity where you don't need the insulation of the full length. Really nice quality material, extremely comfortable next to the skin. A suggestion about the sizing though, if you're in-between sizes go with the smaller option for a more athletic fit which I like for highly aerobic activities like running, etc.
