Much like the other reviewer, this is my second pair - as my first pair was stolen in the gym (may all the well wishes by the first reviewer befall on my thief, too). I find this Solomon series to be attractive for several reasons: They're extremely comfortable to step on, yet very supportive in the heal (a rare combo); the lack of shoe string is amazing, especially in winter; they look great and fit almost anything - denim, ski pants, hiking pants; and they deliver a consistent, no-nonsense performance (they do not tear or break at the seams, etc.). The only "half-star" beef is that the otherwise excellent lacing system is sometimes too tight and sometimes too loose - it's very hard to find the "sweet spot" and maintain it. Otherwise - excellent shoes.
