Denali w/ Trango 3.1

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Lived in this tent for 24 days on Denali June 2013. One tall guy (6'2") and two average size guys(5'8") had plenty of room for sleeping, hanging up our wet socks, damp shirts, etc...
This tent is easily set up in windy, snowy weather with two people. Put it up tight, and the sound of the wind almost does not bother you. On Denali there are three Trango tents to every Hildebrand or North face tent; and I can see why. This tent is rugged.
At 17,200 ft we cooked in the large vestibule. Plenty of room to melt snow and still enter or exit without spilling the pot. I would recommend holding a pot lid over the your MSR stove when starting, due to possible flare-ups.
At 11 lbs, if you cannot carry it, you do not belong on the mountain in the winter.
I would not use any other tent in the winter.

This is a great shovel that you can definitely abuse and it will hold up. Great for New England where I probably will never need to cut snow blocks. Packs down small and the lightest I have found. I bought a Knock off at a discount store for $20, and it bent the first time I used it. Spend the money, it is worth it. I did not give it four stars because you trade a shorter handle for it being light.

Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

The saw is definitely shorter than pictured. The photo make it look like it is half as long as the saw, when in reality it is very short. It would be back breaking work using this to make a snow wall or build an igloo. I am returning it for a Voile, T6. Their saw attached to the handle to save or back after a long day of hiking and the Voile T6 avalanche shovel scoops have deadman holes in the scoop to be used for snow anchors or for making a rescue sled, which this saw does not have.
