I actually purchased these off of Amazon because I was a NEWB & hadn't found the HunckNRoll website yet. I learned the hard way how badly I needed knee/shin guards. I hit my 1st MTB trail totally unprepared and came out with a nice bloody gash on my shin to show for it. As soon as I got home I ordered these.
Anyway about the pads. Im 6'01 215 & ordered the L/XL an they fit perfectly. There easy to get on & off, an very comfortable when riding. You kind of forget you have them on. But man when you mess up you'll be glad you have them on! I wear these with the Endura Burner Shorts and they go together perfectly. An look pretty bad ass too. The only concern I do have is the plastic Snap-On component that locks them into place. Its a very thin plastic & I'm not sure how well there going to hold up to wear & tear. I've had a problem the 1st time out with the left side not locking into place. I had to play with it for a bit till I finally heard the locking "CLICK". Not sure if that was the Guard itself or "User Error". I'll update if it continues
Glad I listened to the reviews an went one size up. That's one of the drawbacks of ordering online..FIT. Im a tall thin guy with long fingers an gloves can be tricky. Technically according to their size chart I should have been a medium but went up to the large after reading the reviews. An well excuse the pun but they "Fit like a glove". An with just a little wear an stretch they'll be perfect. As for quality ook an feel pretty durable. But I'll try an update once I get out an put them through a few rides. An you cant beat the price. As for shipping I think I got them in like 4 days. Hope this review helps.
These are the 1st pair of shorts I bought. Mainly due to the reviews. Granted they are a little pricey. But definitely worth it if you have the extra money. Very comfortable & they look great on. Actually there pretty bad ass. An that padding in the crotch works wonders for those longer rides. Took a bit to get use to though. Felt like I was walking around with a load in my drawers. But man did I need that padding.
As for fit. I'm 6'01 220 thin build usually wear a size 36 in jeans. I went with the X-Large and they fit perfectly. There is elastic in the waist band so there's plenty of room. An adjustable straps on the side. Length wise they come right to my knees. I wear them with the "Fox launch knee/shin pads" no problem. Fit is perfect. Overall I'm extremely happy with my purchase. Oh almost forgot. Those zippered pockets really come in handy. I carry my iPhone in the front left don't even know it's there
