Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I have the Cadence sensor which is separate from the speed sensor even though they can be bought together or separately. The cadence sensor will pair with the Stealth 50 but no cadence is displayed. Neither Garmin or CatEye can tell me if it will or will not work. Garmin support was very clear that if you are trying to connect this to a non-garmin product that they could not help you. So, I don't know how good this product is or isn't, just that Garmin can't even tell me if users have complained about it not working with non-garmin products (apparently they don't track that kind of useful infomation!) BTW, I have a Gamin HRM that does work with the Stealth 50 so I do know how to pair the devices.

Familiarity: I've used it several times

Bought this for my eventual hike of Mt Whitney. It worked great in my practice hikes and for the real deal. The waist strap just barely fits my middle waist spread but should be fine for most people. For water, I used a 3L camelback in it and placed two 750ml bike bottles on the outside pockets.

It took me 9 hours to make it to the top and 7.5 down and the pack was never uncomfortable during that time. I carried in the pack a fleece, light jacket, rain pants, water purifier, hat, gloves, extra socks, and various food items.
Unlike some, I did not have a problem with the inner pocket where my purifier, meds, and some other small items were stored. I found the outside shoulder and waist strap pockets handy to keep my energy bar and gel for the next snack break while I hiked.
