Familiarity: I've used it several times

Use it weekly as my gym bag. Holds everything you need, plus some. Outstanding on trails as the bottom of the pack slims down. Makes hiking/working with gear and equipment very easy as the pack doesn't get in the way. Outside clips do a good job of compressing the pack flat when you have minimal gear inside

Wish I had this jacket years ago. Works perfect for a running jacket. A little cool at first but once you start running you warm up without overheating. The back side of the jacket does a great job of venting excess heat away from you. Front pocket fits an iPhone 4 with case sideways perfectly. At 6' 190, wide shoulders, large fits perfect.

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I was hesitant with the Ambit as just a heart rate monitor. It is a great watch but would I use all the bells and whistles this watch has to offer. Simple answer...YES. Have used the Suunto T3 as a previous heart rate monitor but the Ambit brings personal training and adventure to a whole new level.
I?ve been in the military 15ish years and been continuing to train and challenge myself every year. With that said, the heart rate monitoring features of the watch and belt are simple, easy to view, and accurate. The Ambit allows you to see a bar graph of your heart rate while you?re training. This feature allows you to push yourself with out over doing it. The accuracy and resolution of the GPS receiver is the best I?ve seen, (identified perfect ovals around a 400 meter track).
Bottom line?I would recommend the Ambit to anyone that enjoys training and the great outdoors.

Living in Europe the jacket is great for walks around town, trekking, or casual dinners. Outstanding construction and full flexibility with any activity your doing. Even fits great over the Mountain Hardware Monkey Man Fleece jacket as a breathable outer shell on cold days. Wish every jacket fit as well as this one. For those wondering fit, I'm 6' 185 with wider shoulders and the large fits perfect.
