Being a casual biker but a serious bicycle commuter, I was looking for a shoe that would fit into both worlds as well as something I could wear all day in a casual setting should the need arise. I am very happy with these shoes. They offer comfort and support on my commute and yet are designed I can walk around and not have a shoe that gives off the obvious bike look. The SPD cleats fit well into the soles so you do not sound like a tap dancer walking down the hall. There is only a slight toe lift and a hard sole that feels different from my other skate shoes. There is plenty of padding around the ankle and tounge. My only complaint would be the Velcro strap used to secure the laces. It should be a little longer due to the very padded tounge.

I recently bought a pair of these to replace my old, well they are so old I forgot the brand name, shoes. I commute to work and many times do not have the option to change my shoes. walking in these, the soles do squeak, however the cleats do not touch the floor as in my older shoes, Many of my co workers could not belive these were my biking shoes and not your run of the mill skate shoes. I bought two pair. One for SPD use and one for non SPD pedals. I have not tried the non SPD ones yet but if they work as well as the ones I installed the SPDs on, I will not be dissapointed. The cut out popped out with a little effort and the cleat installation was a snap. The padding around the tounge and ankle also help. I am very happy with these shoes.
