Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Fit: True to size

I must say as a representative for Sierra Designs I am a bit spoiled by the amount of gear I get to try out, and sure enough every year I am stoked on the new product. This year is no exception other than this is by the far the best down jacket I have worn.

I got the chance to try this out last week during a cold snap in Moab. The first thing that is different is the shell and liner material it is a soft to the touch fabric which feels great against the skin, no more cold nylon. Secondly the entire jacket has stretch like your favorite softshell, so no more hindrance reaching for the beer on the top shelf. Thirdly is the warmth you have with this jacket, in order to make sure the down does not pop through the stretchy material we have placed an interior membrane in the liner, which cuts down on the wind blowing through and cooling you off. Then if that is not enough it is filled with 800 fill Dri Down.

If you are like me and wake up in the middle of the night because of a cold shill going through your bag you have no more worries using the new Zissou bag with Dri Down.

You get that chill from the dew point dropping and condensation building up in your bag therefor losing loft and temperature rating.

Dri Down eliminates that issue as it maintains loft while in moist environments.

I just got back from my 1st weekend trip to the desert in this tent and it was great.

Setting it up in the dark with winds was a snap due to the jakes foot attachments and pole clips.

I had tons of room to stretch out and throw my gear around with the big vertical walls, and it was nice to close up the mesh panels to keep the sand from blowing in to a minimum.
