danny's Bio

Manufacturer Rep for American Rec, we are the parent company of great brands like Sierra Designs, Kelty and Ulitmate Directions.

Our company is headquartered in sunny Boulder, Co, although I do not live in boulder I do live in Colorado. Which it is true is sunny a lot here, that is part of the reason I have spent the past twenty years living here, my god that makes me feel old.

I love the brands I represent because they are bad a**, Sierra Designs was the first tent I ever bought back in 1989. As a rafter and adventure basecamper with my adventurous kid, the kelty product line sorts us out like nobodies else can.

Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Fit: True to size

I must say as a representative for Sierra Designs I am a bit spoiled by the amount of gear I get to try out, and sure enough every year I am stoked on the new product. This year is no exception other than this is by the far the best down jacket I have worn.

I got the chance to try this out last week during a cold snap in Moab. The first thing that is different is the shell and liner material it is a soft to the touch fabric which feels great against the skin, no more cold nylon. Secondly the entire jacket has stretch like your favorite softshell, so no more hindrance reaching for the beer on the top shelf. Thirdly is the warmth you have with this jacket, in order to make sure the down does not pop through the stretchy material we have placed an interior membrane in the liner, which cuts down on the wind blowing through and cooling you off. Then if that is not enough it is filled with 800 fill Dri Down.

Joann,

To collapse it down, look on the child's side of the back panel you will see two straps attached just below the top of the carrier below the fabric covered bar.

Loosen those two straps all the way and that will release the roll cage and allow for the carrier to lay flatter.

I hope that helps.
