Danielle Mariott's Bio

I have chosen the mountains over the ocean. I prefer winter to summer. And, I'm not opposed to hiking in the rain.

I've heard a tree fall in the forest once. And, yes, it made a sound.

When I'm not outside with my insanely energetic lab, Otto, I'm drawing or playing my guitar really loudly in this band:

Fit: Runs large

This suit is pretty great. I am 5'8", athletic build, and I was swimming in the Medium. I exchanged it for a Small and the overall fit is good except it's a tad bit short in the arms, but nothing too bad. Haven't worn it in the snow yet, but I'm pretty sure I'll feel bomb proof.

I agree with another reviewer that because of the ring at the bottom, it's a bit precarious on top of a backpacking stove. It had to be set just so.

It did boil water way faster than I've experienced with other pots and kettles.

I was hoping to buy these as a more lightweight option for backpacking trips. I read on the Vasque site that they are an approach shoe (suppose I could've guessed by the styling) but I'm wondering if they would be suitable for backpacking for days with 8-15 miles of hiking a day. Would/could these hold up?
