Dana's Bio

I absolutely love to trail run. And I love to tele ski. If I had to choose, which one would I pick.....luckily I don't have to!

I'm very lucky - living in a ski/mountain town has a been way of life for me for fifteen years. When I'm not working at Backcountry.com, I spend my time trail running, tele skiing, mountain biking, skate skiing, hanging with my best buddy and also with my favorite dog. I started climbing again this year too. Lots to do and not enough time.

This is one of my favorite pieces - it's more of a softshell with fuzzy inside. I'm 5'7", 128 lbs and the small fits well - if you want it more as a layering piece. If purchasing as an outer layer I would've ordered the medium. It's a flattering princess cut and I get compliments whenever wearing it. It makes a great layer to tour in (skinning up), although would want a warmer outerlayer for skiing down (in colder temps).

I have the down sweater (w/out the hood) and I'm 5'6" and 128 and the small fits well for me. I use it more as an insulating piece than as an outer layer. For me, it works best with one layer underneath, then this layer and then a shell. For example, I'll skin up in a base layer and shell in mid-teen degree temperature and then for the ski down, I'll throw on the down sweater as an insulating piece. I'll use it occasionally as an outer layer in the spring when the temperature is closer to the 30's. Hope that helps.

This helmet is super comfy. Adjustable sizing works really well (especially as I'm normally between a small and medium). Light weight, cool and comfortable. I'm not fond of helmets - still don't ski with one. That being said, I was apprehensive, but found this one to work well. Forget I had it one. And a rock about a half dollar size in diameter bounced right off it the week I bought the helmet. Safety never takes a holiday. Recommend this helmet.

Cute looking shorts. The kelpie green is a bit lighter than the photo (brighter versus the muted color above). The shorts hit right about the knee. They're lightweight and dry quickly. I found them to run a size big. I'm 5'7", 130 lbs and normally wear an 8; but in these shorts the size 6 were a bit loose. Recommend them.

After looking at this product for 3 months, I finally bought it and wish I had sooner. Great, none bulky layer for skiing. For any day under 30 degrees, I wear a mid-weight base layer, this jacket and my shell. It's perfect. Good for touring on cold days. I'm 5'7" medium frame and the small fits well.
Color is light green.

I purchased this hoody a few weeks ago and I have to stop myself from wearing it to work more than twice a week.

Very soft, very comfy and warm. I live in cold weather (20 - 30 degrees) and it's perfect for work attire with a cute tee underneath.

I'm between a medium and small; I'm 5' 7" (The North Face/Patagonia small, but Mountain Hardwear / Marmot / Arc'teryx medium). In this item, the small fits really well.
