I'm really surprised someone has not made a more durable and improved chain guard. This does work but its just okay.
Got these for my 11 yo bmx'er son; will use in spring; much lighter than the FLY shoes he was using before. He loves the flashy colors. He also likes the fit. Construction looks good but can't comment yet on durability but bmx'ing will shred them up if they are no good and I'll leave update.
I have an older pneumo as it use to be the top dog yrs ago. Its still a great helmet and works well. Sizing is spot on.
If you have any patella problems beware. I stopped using them because of pain related to these changing my patella movement. Maybe most knee protectors do this but my G Forms do not. G Form is for lighter duty though.
POC use to rule the high end protection gear; now other companies have caught up. I would only buy POC b/c of the superior material, etc but now they are just overpriced for what you get. Remember everyone, this gear is suppose to be disposable after couple of hard years of use and even then the material I suspect will degrade over time and will need to be tossed. These pads after 3 yrs are still flexible but as others mentioned they just don't stay up on my elbow; constantly pulling them up. They have a velcro strap at the top you cinch down but then its either too tight and arms hurt or too lose and fall down. I have taken a bif and they hold up well and did their job.
I have the thule for the hitch and one of these on top of an FJ. Works well and the quality is better than the thule.
Chamois or not??
I tried this with luke warm water; not a good idea. I then tried it with boiling water; let cool while I got ready for my ride. Put on top of water bottle and it was fantastic. I kept looking for the rum to spike it with. Great idea and kept me warmer than usual.
Agree, your not going to reach around and get anything out of your jersey pockets wearing this jacket. Pull over and lift up yes; but on the bike it would be a pain. I have the medium 5'7" 140lbs and it fits nice; I can put stuff in my jersey pockets with this jacket on.
this jacket; rain jacket race cape is the best description. Not meant to be warm but does provide some; no zips/pockets anwhere except the one used to zip up in the front. It was not made for touring nor would I want to wear mountain biking.
I have an older version; probably 2010 and it used the much stiffer material paclite material. Good but not nearly as nice as this jackets material which has a much softer texture and less "crinkly" feel.
I have this jacket and would recommend it for full on rain. I wore in switzerland in severe downpour most of the day and kept me dry. Only caveat is that this jacket is cut like a racing jacket. Its not meant for touring at all. Its just a shell. No zips or pockets. Its full on race cape style.
Very good. As with all hydration mixes you gotta try it and this one is a safe bet as the taste is not overpowering.
Not ultra warm; I'm not taking these for 30-50 deg temps; 60's yes but my toes get cold easy. You have to cut out the cleat area. I used for 2 seasons and they are starting to wear out in the back. But got them on sale and well worth it. Plus, you look pro!
Hope they get this back in stock. There are alot of hammer products that I don't like the taste but this one works well. Its thicker than other gels but tastes great.
I just never got the bang for the buck from these. I love the taste and they do work as all gels but nothing special happened for me when using them. I would stick to a large dispenser product and put into flask. Way cheaper. 3/5 b/c of costs.
