Picked this up for a rear tire on a tip from the bc.com folks. Originally had it on the east coast and have recently moved it out to salt lake city. Normally don't write harsh reviews but this has been no muy bueno. Didn't stick for stink on east coast rocks and roots. Thought this might be due to humidity or what have you, but similar experience in the dry-ish Wasatch, and this is with the tire in "traction" mode directionality. Climbing up or ripping corners on solid rock, light gravel, or hard packed banked turns, I have never had a tire slip out so much. Have tried it at a variety of pressures, same deal. It does roll fast, but to me not a worthwhile tradeoff off for the lack of traction. Might work for pure cross country with flat to rolling mostly hardpack conditions, but don't count on it handling even moderate ups or downs.

Have had this out mostly on low volume rivers class III and IV, handled it all well. Perfect blade size for me, prefer a more powerful catch, though it never felt like too much paddle. The fiberglass straight shaft is so light, I'm not sure why you would need to go with carbon. I am 6'1" and went with the 200cm, figured that would give the paddle a longer period of fitting well after the edges wear down a bit.
