When not working with words, I can be found snowboarding, biking (mountain and road, I don't discriminate), and hiking. Indoors, I'm into good food & wine, and keeping the peace between dogs and cats.

Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I have been looking for a comfortable, lightweight day pack for hiking, biking, and nordic touring, and am so glad I waited until I found this pack! It's very comfortable on, you barely know it's there, and it looks like the mesh straps mean this pack won't be too hot to haul around trails in the summer. I am generally not a huge fan of hydration packs -- never really got them to work for me -- so the hydration aspect of this pack wasn't really a factor in my choosing it. However, I'm definitely sold on this system -- easy to use, and the bite valve is by far the best I've ever encountered. I'll definitely be putting it to good use from now on!

Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

These boots were the first in about 15 years for my husband, so he doesn't have a whole lot to compare it to. However, he did find that, when trying boots on, that Atomic boots seemed to suit his foot the best. He has nothing but good things to say about them, although he did feel that they are a little softer than expected for 120 flex boots. The walk/ride feature was tested out on a couple of bootpacks and while it was somewhat helpful, it wasn't really earth-shattering. One thing he really likes about them is how much lighter they are than his ancient Langes, but like I said that comparison probably isn't terribly helpful.

Fit: True to size

My son loves his joggers, but a lot of them end up looking kind of sloppy -- not these! They have a great cut that allows plenty of freedom of movement, but don't look super baggy, even though he bought the XL. The blue (midnight) color is great, too.

My son was looking for a basic windbreaker with no lining that would provide just-enough protection -- this was perfect! Good looking, lightweight, does shelter against light sprinkles and wind. He wears it pretty much every day. He's 6 feet 190 and the XL fit just right.

Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

My husband has been skiing in 28.5 boots for years, and when he was getting ready to buy new ones, confirmed by trying on multiple models that this was indeed his size. Unfortunately, he did not try on these beforehand -- it's not that the 28.5s are fit on the small side, but that he couldn't even get his foot into the boot. Admittedly he has a somewhat wide foot (though not super wide), but I would have thought a 100 last wouldn't have been a problem. Overall, unless you have a pretty narrow foot, you will probably need to size up. Otherwise seem pretty cool, but hard to address performance.

... but really, just a touch. This is a great jacket for temps in the 30s (under a shell) or 50s-60s (alone) but if you're looking for some serious insulation, this is not for you. I know, it says "LT" -- take that seriously, and if you need something truly warm, go for the AR version instead.
That being said, this jacket is fantastic when you just need a little warmth - super lightweight, very breathable, and very easy to layer over. Truly a 3-season jacket that can span a range of conditions. It's also very easy to layer over. I got the non-hooded version for maximum versatility.
Like some Arc'teryx items, the fit is a bit of a mystery -- some things run small, while others are large; this one is in the latter category. If you're between sizes, I would recommend sizing down rather than up.

I got this for my daughter (when it went on sale) for her to use on a planned trip this spring -- so while I can't comment on it in actual use, I can say that it's definitely the weight we were looking for and, when we tested it out in the living room, it was easy enough to set up and break down, and was definitely roomy enough for her. Looking forward to an actual field test, but am confident it will work well!

I don't buy any other kind of socks any more. I have to say that I love my Smartwools a little more, but these definitely do the trick -- and I love the colors and patterns. They will probably get most use as everyday socks, but could easily do double-duty for hiking.

I got these for my son, who was trying to find something a little more fashionable that the baggy joggers he usually wears. The good part is that even thought the fit is much slimmer, these are so stretchy and fit so well, he doesn't miss the baggy pants. They look great and feel great, what more could you want? He is 6'0" and a healthy 190 pounds, and the 34 fits perfectly.

I got this because I now have a really nice snowboard and am afraid to leave it out in front of a lodge even long enough to just duck in to go to the bathroom. The cable isn't super thick but it will be enough to deter the casual impulse swiping of the board. Setting the combo was easy enough, and it's definitely small and light enough to make it easy to bring along. Will be testing it out this weekend but don't anticipate any problems.

I'm an ex-Hoka lover -- went through two pairs that I loved before they changed the design for more mainstream appeal. The fit of these has everything I loved about the Hokas -- has a nice wide toebox, but without allowing your foot to swim around in the shoe. I'm afraid I'm a little on the fence about the zero drop; definitely felt it a little when running, but wasn't an issue walking. Overall a great ride, and a worthy replacement.

These are excellent underwear -- fit great, dry quickly, comfy. All the reviews were so great I had to give them a try. However, I'm not sure what I was expecting ... this is just underwear. I got 'em on sale, not sure it's worth spending the money on full price.

Love that moment when I slip into these .... aaaah! UGG sheepskin feels so good. Only reason this gets 4 stars instead of 5 is that the sole is surprisingly thin -- so these aren't great for standing or walking much, but perfect for relaxing around the house. I did NOT size down on these, and that was definitely the right call.

I got this for my son after exchanging from the initial XL -- the XXL in this fits smaller than most XL. Length is good but fit is definitely slim. But now that he has the size right, he loves this and wears it all the time.

These pants offer a great blend of comfort with a touch of compression. They aren't as supportive as CW-X tights I've owned in the past, but they are far more comfortable to wear. However, they still feel like they are working to support muscles and joints. If you're not a fan of the stuffed sausage feel of serious compression tights, these are a good choice.

I got these to replace my 4-year-old Lexas -- they have come a long way since then! Strap design is much improved, really like the flexible rubber design. The ratchet design seems to be much better, too. There's a ton of padding on the bottom, which does, I noticed, make a difference. I just threw these on a new board and took them out, so I haven't had time to adjust all the settings yet, but imagine that will make them even better. Hard to say how much of what I experienced was the new board and how much was the bindings, but they felt great on the snow, super responsive and very comfortable. I got them in black but kind of wish I'd gone for the cheetah look -- just buy them quick before your only choice is the Moss Burgundy, LOL.
