My 5 year old little guy is very particular about what he does and does not like. These boots won his approval without being asked. I was thinking about recess with a classroom full of kindergarteners when I purchased these. In the rush to get dressed without the same level of help from home, little to no assistance is needed. They reach his calf. Maybe sitting to take them off to avoid falling over the boot, but for the most part they are very easy to get on and off. They keep his feet very warm and he's tried them by stomping in ice. The insulation is phenomenal and the boot is surprisingly lightweight. Nothing bad to say at all. I'm satisfied!

My 9 year old daughter loves purple (that alone sold her...forget about the specs) and these are accented with a salmon color. All of the pockets zip close. The waist is inside adjustable and has a snap surrounded by velcro closure. She's 53" about 80.5 lbs wearing size L. Because of her height the XL would be too long but would definitely get in two winter wears. The size L (10-12) will only be for one winter. Normal rise fitting her to her waist and that's while worn over her jeans/pants. She loves them and a warm AND happy 9 year old little lady makes a happy and very satisfied mom!!!

My 53" 80.5lbs 9 year old little lady loves this coat and so do I!!! The torso has a velour lining adding more protection in addition to the already 650-fill keeping her even warmer. Thankfully we haven't experienced the full winter excitement in the Central NY region yet, but on one of our colder days she was very warm with a lite weight long sleeve shirt and thermals. The size L stops mid-knee and there's room for more layers and growth. The fur trimmed hood fully covers her head and when zipped all the way adds an additional barrier against blowing snow. Paired with matching ski pants she's very ready for the cold temps.
