COboarder73's Bio

I've been snowboarding for 20 years, it drives me, it's my life. I've been around quite awhile, as I'm not in my 20's anymore, but still compete in snowboarding regularly and hope to be riding all my life.

Favorite place to be: Outside, mountains, rivers, beach- you name it life's too short to not get outside as much as possible.

I'm also a tech. person; with so much crap out there, I do my research before going with any companies product. For review purposes I'll try to give a fair opinion of any product I feel deserves a Yeah or a nay on this site.

I've ridden the Evo and SL for many years, with the introduction of Rocker/Camber this board can not be beat anywhere on the mountain, park, pipe, powder, groomers - you name it and the Evo will handle it. It is extremely stable riding into a jump at full speed or mowing down 3ft of freshies, has tons of pop, and is really forgiving on landings in the park or off of backcountry kickers. I typically ride a 158, but have found that with rocker/camber a 155 will handle most park or powder days. In my opinion you won't find a better Freestyle board anywhere - The Evo delivers what you need when you need it.

Mid weight beanie, really soft, and good style - it seems taller than other modern fit beanies from Coal (ex. The Treu beanie), but I am able wear this under my helmet when riding (snug it up and pull it back on your neck for extra warmth!) and its really comfortable, would recommend this beanie for any riding or casual wear.

I've had several pairs of lashed over the years, and the boot keeps getting better, I've already put about 15 days in on this years boot (white/black/black)and they still aren't showing any real wear. A few items to note, ThirtyTwo finally shortened the included laces so you don't have to wrap them around your boot 2 or three times so they don't drag. The liner is really easy to get in and out of, all around this is by far a lace it up and go boot with a softer flex.

I have used these gloves several times now in below 20 degree and above 32 degree weather, they are warm in colder temps and are fine for warmer park days (may be very warm on spring/summer days), true to size as far as all other gloves I've used (686, grenade, & foursquare) they look and feel great. I would recommend these to anyone looking for a low profile glove that can span the snowboarding season.

I’ve had the Dakine Cobra gloves for a few months now and have taken them out in 25 degree weather and most recently
-1 degree weather with wind chill temps making it close to -20 degrees. The gloves held up nicely warm and mostly dry until the later part of the day. After sweat or moisture from the conditions got them a little wet, they did lose some of their warmth, but not enough to cause any cold finger issues. I would say they're a good buy if you don't plan on riding or skiing in a lot of sub zero days, but would like a glove that can handle the cold times when you don't want to wear your pipe/park gloves. They look great, I would say in reality they are a mid profile rather than low profile glove and Dakine truly makes a quality product, so I'm hooked!
