Brian Shonka's Bio

I've been exploring the outdoors with my dad since I was young. Now that I'm in college I'm expanding my interests and pushing myself even further. During the summer I work at an amazing camp near Boone North Carolina. There I get to hike, backpack, sport climb, cave and whitewater kayak. During the rest of the year, my adventures are limited to what I can reach in a weekend from school in Carrollton GA. I've traveled to 45 different states and 8 countries and still have many destinations and trips in the works.

While I'll always like the older style of this pant more, the paramount is a great climbing and hiking pant. The durable material with DWR sheds water incredibly well for at least of year of constant use. The paramount is also very light and drys extremely fast. I'm 6'5 and the long option is just long enough for wear with hiking boots and the optimal length to climb with climbing shoes on.

C'mon this pack is possibly the sickest looking technical ever. The swing arm system is amazingly comfortable and makes long hikes a breeze. Main compartment has plenty of room although the bladder pouch is a squeeze for my full Deuter bag. Weird that the picture doesn't show the crampon pouch in the center of the pack. Using this baby for my increasingly frequent climbing trips and have gotten countless compliments.
