Brett's Bio

I was born and raised in Montana. I grew up skiing, hiking, biking, and snowmobiling. I moved to Utah in 99' to ski and go to school. I moved to AK for a season where I got certified to be a heli-ski guide in Haines (level 2 avalanche certification and my wafa medical certification) After a short time living in Spain I moved back and married my wife. We now have a son and still love to ski, hike, bike and snowmobile with the little one!

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I am avid X9 user but I must say these new type two derailleurs are way beyond the old style. Its like I am riding my quite single speed, no chain slap at all along with quiet shifting makes this a must. The X9 is crisp and cleaning shifting without breaking the bank for XO.

Fit: True to size

I bought these for mountain biking and trail running after fighting with heavier less sporty glasses. They are awesome!! Super lightweight and the adjustable nose piece makes the fit dialed in for your face. With 3 lenses to swap out (changing them takes 30 seconds) all your basses are covered. I now use them for everything and can't seem to put my other glasses on.

I used these to replace some lock on type grips. They go on super easy with some hairspray and stay put even when I am wrenching on them while climbing. They are definitely wider around and have more padding then most grips I have used which makes them nice and comfy.

I switch between this and a single speed setup for mountain biking. Not the lightest or fastest shifting cassette but you don't have to take out a loan for it either.

This is really my first altimeter so I have nothing to compare it with. It seems user friendly and easy to learn. I have had issues with the battery life like others have stated in their reviews but the battery is super simple to replace. All in all it been a great purchase and has held up to some fairly regular abuse.

These are sick shorts but I would never ride in them unless it was gravity assisted. They are way too heavy and hold heat like crazy but for a hang around short they are awesome.

Best backcountry gear!

I bought this pack to use snowmobiling and absolutely love it! It stays put when you are riding hard unlike most backpack style packs. There is plenty of room for everything you need for a day in the backcountry. The shovel and probe compartments are well thought out easy to access. The best part about this pack is the pockets in the front. When all my buddies are fumbling with their packs trying to get stuff out I just unzip one of the front pockets. I would buy it again in a heartbeat.
