Nice and warm on a night in Shenandoah NP that got down to the lower 20's. I stayed nice and comfortable, though I can't say the same for my friend, whose bag wasn't quite warm enough for our trip. He ended up getting a liner for his bad at a shop at a campground after a night of very miserable sleep. I can't say much about the DriDown yet because my tent didn't have any condensation the next morning, but I'll be sure to post something about that later.
Used this thing in Shenandoah while on some trails. It got down into the low 30's and it still boiled water pretty quick and I was able to get some oatmeal made. You can adjust the flame without taking your gloves off, which was very useful. You can bring it down to a simmer and what not. I was impressed with how well it stood up to wind and how stable it was for being so small. To make it boil water even quicker while in windy conditions, it doesn't hurt to have something to block wind, but it's not needed.
Go for a Medium. I'm around the same size (5'8, 155) and it has enough room for a couple of layers. I wear it with my Marmot tempo and I can definitely fit another layer without it feeling too loose (I've also worn it with just a long sleeve t).
I'm 5'8" and 155 lbs and went with the medium. It fits pretty well, with enough room for a layer or two. I guess it depends on what kind of fit you want...
I simply love these! I've worn them over a base layer while playing in the snow with my nephew and have taken them on a snowshoeing trip. They are definitely versatile. They handled the snow and, when over a base layer, were warm enough. Haven't worn them in any warmer weather (I'm in Montana), but that will come too soon.
The only complaint is the material attracts dog fur (I have a husky shepherd mix and, of course, hair is everywhere), but the color seems to hide my dog's fur pretty well.
Another great product from Marmot! Can't go wrong with this brand.
Got these mittens for my nephew who recently turned 2. I got the Mediums and they are a little big, but hey, that means he can wear them next year! He loves them. He's always wanting to put them on. He had a pair of other gloves and they didn't fit right, but these fit great!
This is my go to soft shell jacket. I have worn it during runs when the temp drops pretty low (20's-30's), I wear casually nonstop through winter, as a layer when I'm snowboarding, and you will always see it in my pack. It breathes well, durable, and doesn't impair my range of motion. The water resistance is just that, water resistant.. BUT I TELL YA WHAT! It keeps the rain out (unless you go swimming or you spend a long time out in the down pour, in that case you should be wearing a hard shell...) and it dries pretty quick! It is an awesome jacket, received many comments, and I wear it all the time. Definitely not a bad price, either. I would have paid more for this jacket, and you can bet I'll be getting another one when mine decides to wear out.
I've had it for about a year and a half and it doesn't show any signs of wearing out any time soon. The reflective emblems are even still in great shape! You really get a lot of use out of this jacket.
I'm 5'8", weigh 155-160 pounds, have a medium, and it fits perfectly, with enough room for a base layer and a fleece, maybe another layer.
Feel free to ask any questions about this. Like I've said, I have worn it a lot the past year and a half, so I know this jacket like it is part of my body. I never go anywhere without it.
Just to start off, I will admit that when I originally purchased a pair, they were a half size too big (because they stretch). Now that I have a little more experience, I wear a more aggressive and smaller shoe, especially for bouldering. Don't get me wrong, this shoe is very comfortable! I still wear them when I am spending hours in the gym or I am doing a long climb.
