Bottom line: Kept my pack dry. It unfolds fast and is sort of like a fitted sheet fits on your backpack like it would your mattress and is always a pain in the butt to fold back up again. If you want extra protection you can;t go wrong. Weight definitely isn't an issue.. It weighs virtually nothing...

Snowmobiling, after-ski, mountaineering, hut trips, long walk to nowhere this jacket will keep you warm. I wore this in -10 degrees with a t shirt and i was sweating my butt off. If you are cold all the time this is the jacket for you. If you are warm all the time and like to go out in the cold this is the jacket for you. When the other layers just won't cut it because its just that cold, you want this jacket and the hood don't leave home without it..

Mountain Hardwear has done it again. The compressor PL jacket is the best top layer or under layer for a ski day. Packs down into the smallest pocket of my backpack and is not a bulky under layer. The weight and size keep you warm on the coldest windiest wildest ski days while hitting up Vail's Back Bowls. Doesn’t absorb to much odor and breaths. Love this jacket.
