Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Fit: True to size

I was going through my closet one day and found I didn't have a single pair of shorts that weren't mountain bike shorts. I realized I definitely needed a mid length casual short to wear around town. The Kavu Avalon fit the bill. They're comfortable, they have a drawstring so that I dont have to wear a belt, and the leg ends at the perfect spot, not "mom jean" long, but long enough to be comfortable to someone who doesn't normally rock short shorts.

They can run up in the crotch a little when hiking or running around, which is why I only gave 4 out of 5, but over all they're pretty nice.

Familiarity: I've used it several times
Fit: Runs large
Height: 5' 7"
Weight: 155 lbs
Size Purchased: Medium

Pros: The fabric on the Henley short sleeve jersey is super breathable, so much so that you can even rock the black color on a warmer day. It's extra long in the back so you don't have lower back gap when riding, and it's got a nice little secret pocket for your keys or ID when on a ride.

Cons: The fit is huge. Runs large is an understatement. I normally wear a medium to large, and went for a medium, knowing that Dakine runs a bit big on their tops typically. I should have gone for the small. I have several other Dakine jerseys and a medium always has done the job just right in the past, but this one is enormous. It fits like I'm riding in one of my husband's old jerseys. Definitely size down, possibly twice.

Over all, I do still like riding in this jersey, its breathable and I don't mind a baggy jersey, but I wish I would have sized down more than I did.

I love Ibex to begin with, amazing merino wool products. The Woolies 1 tank is an awesome addition to the wardrobe. You can wear it on its own on warmer days or layer it for skiing, hiking, or mountain biking. It's breathable and wicks moisture.

I have been a fan of Ergons for quite a while. I got these as a cheaper alternative as the profile and shape is very similar. The materials are not as high quality as the Ergons, however, they provide a very comfortable hand position that can help relieve some fatigue. Not to mention you certainly can't beat the price.

I got these tires in a 2.4 for my hardtail. I am not quite ready to make the jump to a true plus tire yet so I figured a high volume 29er tire would fit the bill for now. The tire certainly gives a lot more flotation and cushion, however, the protection sidewalls make it a bit difficult to gauge appropriate tire pressures. 30psi is a bit too firm while 25 feels a bit squirmy. I think finding the correct pressure is key in getting the most out of these tires.

I always use Avid pads for any Avid/Sram brakes. There are several aftermarket brands available, however, the stock pads seem to always work the best.

As a heavier rider I generally prefer the Metallic pads as they seem to have less initial bite but have more power once you really start riding.

I bought these for myself, however my wife has more or less stolen them because she digs black/grey leopard print.
They fit true to size and are over all pretty comfortable. My only gripe is the lack of zip pockets. There are only two front pockets, and nothing else. Velcro "zipper" which is pretty popular for Troy Lee, and adjustable hip straps for a better waist fit.

This jersey makes for a nice alternative to the super baggy more downhill oriented style that Troy Lee tends to be known for. While I generally prefer a baggy jersey it is nice to be able to have something a little more fitted and with pockets when you are going to be spending a long day in the saddle. The jersey overall was very comfortable, the pockets work well, and having a half zip up front was a nice way to cool off on some of the longer rides.

As far as fit goes, it runs true to size as far as a slightly slimmer fitting jersey is concerned, however, I had to size up from what I normally wear in Troy Lee to get the length I am more comfortable with.

I bought this jersey for me wife and she really likes it. She digs the bright ceramic color, and the back and sides have some cool design details that you don't see in the photos online.
The fit is pretty normal for Dakine, a bit relaxed and comfortable. The fabric seems durable and breathable so far.

I bought my wife the Jive shoulder bag in Hula, she loves it. She normally avoids carrying a purse because she doesn't like how much space they take up, but she uses this bag regularly. It's big enough to fit the essentials, wallet, phone, lipstuff, and a small notepad, but not so big that it gets in the way.

This is in my opinion some of the simplest and best bar tape out there. You get a soft texture with ample stretch and length to easily wrap any set of bars. Having a ton of colors is always a nice plus as well.

The texture and feel of this tape is super durable, looks good, and offers great grip even with sweaty palms. Having a variety of colors is also a nice perk. So from that perspective it works wonderfully. I will say that the microtex does not have a lot of stretch to it so I would advise against using it on dirt drops or very wide bars.

Like the other reviews mentioned the blue and grey is actually a black and darker blue. Not a complaint, just a warning. The jersey itself works very well. It has a nice long and loose fit which I am a fan of and is actually nice and light weight despite being from a more gravity oriented company.

This liner does it's job wonderfully. The fit is great, have a good length, do not ride up, and the minimal liner is perfect for all but the longest of rides. The only complaint I have is the seam in the very back. When paired with certain overshorts I own, the seam can chaff in out of the saddle efforts. I have only noticed this with certain short combinations but it is still something worth noting.
