Fit: Runs small

Like many sportiva running shoes, these run small (I normally wear a 41.5 and ended up with a 42.5 in these). But after getting the right size nailed, the shoe appears responsive, comfortable, and well-wearing. Not minimalist and not quite preferred for racing, but comes to its own in rocks and snow. Looking forward to using it on some alpine runs later this year.

When it comes to any sort of scrubbing activity or wiping, Fiberlene truly leaves little residue and beats paper towels by a long run. For removing fluoros and kick wax, this is crucial for spreading thin layers of solvents and then scrubbing dirt and wax out. Large rolls are available, but if you fold a piece into a 2 inch square it last a while.

These are true training waxes, but for anything non-competitive, the waxes are top-notch and the easy to use color/ temp system is worth something when it comes down to beating a friend down the run. Just keep in mind that abrasive snow, grind pattern, structure and other things effect speed more than wax, so don't go to blaming the wax first.

If you want even faster skis without breaking the bank (and your body, potentially) with pure fluoro powders and liquids, a highly fluorinated wax is a good boost, especially in warm and wet conditions. Use it sparingly and crayon and you can make it last surprisingly long.

I have one from last year, and if its the same, the sizing runs really small and there isn't a lot of adjustability. If you can get one to fit and stay on without a draw, go for it, otherwise invest in the slightly more flexible and drawstring enabled beach bucket.

Since few people are really good at telling what size socket is needed, this reduces fuss and stuff works in most cases, given that wrenches are often singles. Not quite enough torque for some applications, but if you put stuff back together right everything should be doable with this triple set.

These are great in most cases, and will take off most bottom brackets with ease. I know someone well who has stripped a bottom bracket with this, but that one required machining for removal, so I'd say any ordinary bottom bracket can be removed. Great for adjusting spacing, screwing around with different crank lengths and chainring combos, and making new friends.
