Ashley Sobel's Bio

I never thought of myself as being a snowboarder; I work for corporate america and wear argyle sweaters and pearls to work.

Then one day a friend of my ex asked me to go. I thought my ex would be there and it would be a great way to attempt to get back together with him. My ex never showed, and it never mattered - I fell in love with something else that day, and it was having a board strapped to my feet and zipping down hills with adrenaline pumping through my veins.

One day my ex asked if he could join us. I said sure - if you can handle me kicking your ass all day long. He didn't show. And I didn't care.

I still wear pearls and argyle sweaters. But as soon as 5 o'clock hits on most days in the winter, I'm changing into my gear and speeding over to the hill.

Dogfunk hooked me up with these babies earlier this season through a Twitter promo and I have not wanted to use any other goggles since I first strapped them on. They are super lightweight, very slick looking, and I just love that they came with an extra lense AND a really cute goggle bag that could double as a makeup bag if I wanted.

I love everything about this little tool - it's lightweight, compact, has everything you need to tune your board and whatever else you may have lying around - but the one complaint I have is that the little ball bearing that is under the metal band likes to pop out. Do you know how hard it is to find one of those suckers?! Luckily I've lost it only while inside and have managed to hang on to it. It's necessary to have in order to hold the bits in place. Other than that, it's solid.

This lock is small, lightweight, and very easy to use. If there's not a board check available you can bet your sweet butt I'll be using this. Carries well in your pocket or in your backpack so you will always have it handy!

I love wearing these under my mitts! If I have to answer a text or call I don't have to worry about the cold wind nipping at my fingertips! The touchscreen works really well and the floral print is so darn cute. The fabric is very lightweight and dries fast. I definitely reccomend these to anyone looking for a touchscreen friendly glove.

I'm a fan of doing things myself, so when I found this wax on sale, I figured I would try it out. It's pretty awesome - smells great, applies smooth, and it did a great job keeping my board in shape over the summer. It also lasts quite a while - I barely used any of the stick even after applying a coat on my board for summer storage. I am not a huge fan of the cork on top - but if I needed to use it quick in a warm car before heading to the hill it would work, but I usually carry a small scraper and a buff pad in my gear kit. Otherwise, if you're not into the hot wax or just to lazy or cheap to do it, I'd recommend you pick this up.

I bought this bag in April and was quite surprised as to how much stuff this baby will fit!!! I currently have the following stuffed inside and it all fits perfectly: a pair of size 10 FLOW snowboarding boots, my gloves, my helmet (Bern Brighton) inside my helmet I have two pairs of socks, 3 bandanas, then in the front pocket I have my tool, scraper, a stick of wax, and a few packs of handwarmers. Like I said, this baby will hold pretty much everything and the kitchen sink.

I snagged this baby up in Vivene Plaid to match my Dakine Boot Bag (http://www.dogfunk.com/dakine-boot-bag-1800cu-in-womens) so I can tote my gear to the ski house each weekend AND be stylish. This is an average-sized duffel bag, so depending on how well you pack it will hold a lot, or a little. This will definitely hold all your gear for a weekend on the slopes plus your apres ski wear. It's a nice, tough favbric, and has an almost rubber-like coating on the inside to help prevent extra wear. A great buy. Snag one up.
