These are great boots that exceeded my expectations in just about every category but one. First the praise, these boots acquire a custom fit after a few adjustments. The boot has a snug fit that is very adjustable due to the lacing system. Once you find that right fit the laces will hold it for you in between wears. Three years later and many long slogs and a bunch of bagged 14ers the soles have held up pretty well. The rubber is sticky as all heck! The heel cup makes it damn near impossible to fully roll an ankle. One major complaint is the lack of a waterproof insert. It doesn't take much for this boot to soak through. This has deterred me from bringing these boots along for some hikes and approaches, if weather is questionable or a lot of snowpack is expected. The fit and rubber invokes a lot of confidence when scrambling and hiking, but without waterproofing this boot is held back. Simply put, if a waterproof insert was added to a new version of this shoe I would not hesitate to buy!
