Familiarity: I've used it several times

These have been out on several groomer and backcountry days with a variety of conditions (spring corn, icy crust, dust on crust, some fresh powder). They've been great through it all. I definitely miss the super turn initiation of my rockered pow skis, but these are much better in variable conditions.

I'm 5'1", and have the 153s. Purchased mainly for backcountry use, but they trump my other skis on hard pack, so I've found myself using them more.

I have these mounted with Dynafit TLT Radical ST bindings, Garmont Luster boots and Black Diamond STS Skins (the ubiquitous orange ones). Haven't measured the weight per foot, but it's significant compared to my previous setup with Marker Tours on Volkl Kikus. I would definitely get some tech bindings if you can.

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I learned to love tree skiing with these. They're wonderfully responsive and nimble through glades and moguls and are awesome for powder days. Mounted with Marker Tour 12s, these were my only skis for awhile and did pretty well as a one ski quiver. After buying a lighter setup for backcountry use with a traditionally cambered ski, I notice that the Kikus don't do as well on groomers or hard pack. If you're looking mainly for a powder ski, I would recommend these highly. Definitely find myself wishing for some powder so I can take mine out.

Within a month of purchasing, the wrist strap stitching broke and I couldn't find any warranty info the Hestra's website (unfortunately these were purchased at my local ski store not backcountry). Ended up trying to fix myself since it was still ski season. These gloves have a great design; the fit and features are awesome. However after a year, I find myself still wanting my hands to be warmer at times (might be time for liners or mittens). Skiing in the PNW, the outer leather tends to get pretty wet by the end of the day, which makes back-to-back ski days slightly less fun since you shouldn't heat the leather to dry it.

I've used these for about a year and have been really happy with them. The fit is awesome and they look pretty sleek. I have the platinum mirror and the sensor mirror lens, which pretty much covers the different light conditions, although an all round lenses would be nice when conditions change. I've only had them fog on me once when it was practically raining and everything I had was just dripping wet.
