I've bouth $200+ jackets from TNF which I ended up returning due to sizing and feather issues. The 2006 RP jacket was my first TNF jacekt and I've loved it ever since. I bought the blue version with the logos stitched to the jkt and in size L. The jacket is 6 yrs old now and its in great condition but a little big for me now. I ordered the 2012 model in black and size M and it fits me perfectly. I'm 5'9 178lbs. I wish the logo was stitched to the jacket. The jacket feels a little stiffer and thats good because I believe it has a stronger wind resistance than my 6yr old RP jacket. I love primaloft jackets because you don't have to worry about feather bleedings. I owned the catalyst and nuptse before and it bled feather almost everyday....The RP jacket is not the warmest out there and it is not warm enough for winter in seattle unless you layer with good fleece hoodies. However I like jackets that are not too thin and not too warm. This jacket perfect for me! I had a tough time deciding whether to get the blue or black...The blue is nice too. Looks great with light and dark jeans.
I thought I would like this jacket but it's way too thin and the jacket doesn't look as nice as it looks in the pic. I own TNF redpoint jacket from 2007 and it's my favorite jacket. The primaloft is very warm and comfortable. The think about it jacket felt more like a rain jacket. Couldn't really determine if it's warm...Couldn't feel the primaloft like I do in my redpoint jkt. I didn't like the logo position (it's a little lower than the usual tnf logo position). I also didn't like the zipper location...
Since I liked the redpoint jacket so much, I ordered a new. My old one is a large and it's a little baggy so a new one in a medium should be good.
I just got this 10 minutes ago and I'm just blown away by how light the jacket is. It's stylish and its comfortable to wear. I'm 5'9 178lbs. The jacket looks good from front view but looks silly on the side due to the large amount of space I have. I didn't want this jacket to be a tight fit so I ordered the large. I wish this jacket had waist cord to tighten space...
Aside from the jkt, the jacket had some grey hair inside....
I bought this directly from the TNF store in Seattle and this jacket is very warm. I wear only a t-shirt inside. I'm 5'9 and weigh 179lbs and I bought a medium. The medium is a nice fit for my body but it doesnt give me much space for layering if I want to wear a hoody inside. I got the medium because the large was a little big and looked a little baggy and the arms were a little longer. I have short arms so the arm length is perfect and the jacket has a slim cut fit so it goes on very well. I bought this because I dislike layering and I was looking for a nice jacket that is warm and slim. This jacket meets the criteria and it looks very sharp with nice jeans and shoes. I love the summit logo on the arm.
1 con: Feathers puke out. TNF store staff told me it's normal but I should return it if too much feather puke out.
I'm 5'9 and I weigh 180lbs. I got a large thinking it would be a good fit. I love the fact that this jacket is both omni shield and heat. The jacket would have been a 5 star rating for me if the length and width of the arms were much shorter. It is way too long and wide it makes it looks me look sloppy. Whats really weird is that the core is a slim fit but the arms are way too baggy....This is either defective or my arms are just way too short...I would exchange it for a medium if I were skinny..
I'm 5'9 180lbs. Will a medium be too tight? I've read a couple reviews and I have a feeling Size Large might be too wide and baggy? I want to wear this under a shell. I'd also like to look smart with the size being right for my body and not being baggy...
The all black platform watch is such a cool looking watch. It has a big face with a 22mm wide band. The watch is thin so there is no worries for people who wears a lot of long sleeve shirts. Whats awesome about this model is that it has an EL feature so no worries about checking the time at night. I was worried about the PVD coating coming off but so far no sign off the PVD coat coming off the watch.
I bought the acandagua vest and I was not happy with the feather puking out of the vest. I paid $30 more for the Nuptse 2 and it is way better in the way it looks and feels. I have seen no feathers puke out of the vest. Now I'm contemplating whether to get the full jacket version in the red....tough decision...
The vest version of this jacket looks great but the feathers started spitting out for the two days I tried it on. This has to be defective. I've never had a bad TNF jacket/vest till I got this one. I bought a Nuptse 2 vest and I'm very happy with it. It's only 30 bucks more and its way warmer.
So I wanted a light down vest and thought this would be a great choice. It's not bulky and it's light. I thought a 550 fill down vest would be warm enough but I found myself cold here in Seattle. It's only been two days and the vest is spitting out feathers....I'm going to return it for the Nuptse 2 down.
I was very excited to see my order in front of my door. I've owned TNF products before and large always fit me well. The vest I ordered looked great in large but this shirt was like a XL size. I'm 5'10 and weight 178lbs. This shirt is very long and wide and it makes me look as if I'm wearing a dress....I was very disappointed by this irregular fit. I was looking forward to this shirt because it looks cool but man this sucks. Medium size would be a better fit but I think it will long and tight in the butt area. If you usually wear large size shirt and is under 6'0, don't buy it unless you go a smaller size.
