Kathleen's Bio

What drives me is getting older and trying to stay young by being physically active. What gets me up in the morning is my alarm clock. As for where I am going is into the future. As for what I want to be is....forever young at heart. You can't stop mother nature but you sure as hell can have fun trying.

Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
Fit: True to size

This is a great shoe. It is well made. I like the vibram sole and rubber around the toe. It was also comfortable. However, I am torn between a trail runner and hiking shoe so I returned them. I am also caught between sizes. There was slippage in the heel that wouldn't be corrected with a smaller size. I have narrow heels. I would recommend these as a hiking shoe.

I love bib shorts. I wear Pearl Izumi bib shorts in sz m. I wanted to give the Gore shorts a try because of the unique bio break system. I had trouble with the Gore sizing, After 3 tries I found the sz l to work best. The zipper system works well but the straps aren't as comfortable as the Pearls. I did not like the white on the bottom of the leg openings. It put me in mind of a Penguin. The bibs gave me a funny shape....penguin like? When paying over $100 bucks for shorts I want them to fit well and if at all possible look good on me. I am short, busty, over 60 with a body going south but happy to still be riding.

I bought 2 zip top merino wool tops from Backcountry 2 to 3 years ago. They are still being used and holding up well. I saw these tops, loved the colors and price and bought 2 more. These shirts don't have the zipper pocket on the chest like the others but not a problem. This lightweight wool is great for layering or on it's own depending on activity. They wash, dry and wear well. I would highly recommend wool as next to skin to replace or use in combination with high tech synthetic and fleece fabrics. It just doesn't stink and that is priceless in any heavy activities.

Love this shirt. This is my second one. I have the purple colored one as well. I decided after I bought the first one that I needed a second one to rotate in for use.
Wool is the way to go for base layers. I have a couple of Smartwool crew neck wool shirts but I much prefer the zip neck for ventilation. Wool just doesn't get a smelly as my Patagonia undershirts.
The price is right and the sale price is a bonus. Keep 'em coming.
