My wife and I both own these boots and have found these remarkably comfortable without any break-in period. She is on her 2nd year while I am on my first. We day-hiked over 100 miles this fall at the Grand Tetons and her's did 110 miles last year in the Canadian Rockies. This fall we hiked through snow and rain and we both had dry feet. I don't know how long they will last but nevertheless, since they don't seem to require any break-in period, they may still be worth it even if they wear quicker than other more expensive boots.
