Andrew Mark's Bio

Born and raised in Salt Lake City, I grew up snowboarding, hiking, backpacking, climbing, kayaking and generally romping about the woods. After spending four years in the Pacific Northwest for school I came back to Utah, though I still love the PNW and visit often. I started as a Gearhead here at Backcountry, and am now a Senior Analyst in our Fraud department.

I picked these up in the Black/Red Sol-X color scheme and I absolutely love them. Simple, stylish and at a good price point. The lens quality is great. I've only been rocking them for a couple of weeks, but I'm stoked every time I put them on. Definitely recommend.

I just bought these (my first real pair of leather boots) and I absolutely love them. They're incredibly stylish and beautifully crafted, as you would expect from Frye. And you know they're going to last forever if you take proper care of them. The fit is a little bit on the large side, so if you're going between sizes, I would recommend sizing down. I've received a ton of compliments on these since I started wearing them and can't wait to keep putting them on all during Fall and Winter.

I just recently got into Roark Revival and I'm super stoked that I did. All of their designs are cool and unique, with this shirt being no different. Fabric is very soft and very comfortable. Has a slimmer fit in the torso, but not overly so. Quickly turning into one of my favorite fall shirts.

I love RVCA shirts (I own a ton of them) and this one is no different. I like the baseball style, 3/4 sleeves. The design on the back is very cool and somewhat retro. Super soft fabric, very comfortable and a great slimmer/athletic fit in the torso.

I picked up a bunch of Stoic shirts this fall. They're a nice medium-weight, absolutely perfect for fall weather. Super stylish, classic looks. Definitely recommend them. I really like the gunmetal color scheme on this one, goes well with a number of options.

Picked these up to have a nice summer-sweat pant and they fit the bill. Super light, very comfortable. They do run a little bit on the smaller side, I'm a 32in waist and I purchased a medium. They fit alright but I could also see sizing up a bit.

HydroFlask is one of the big names in the industry for a reason. Their stuff is high quality, durable, and sleek. I picked up this water bottle as a gift, and the recipient loves it. They use it every day. Keeps the hot things hot and the cold things cold.

I bought these for my brother for his birthday to use at the gym. He absolutely loves them, and is asking me to buy him another pair or two. Lightweight, breathe well and with Nike you know you're getting quality material and manufacturing.

There's a reason Chacos are so popular. Very comfortable, offer great stability and have that classic look. Great option for everyday use, river trips, light hiking or relaxing in once you're in camp at the end of a long day backpacking. Once you've got the straps adjusted the way you like, they're super easy to take on/off. Definitely worth picking up.

Picked this up for river trips (mostly to avoid getting a ticket). But it's a great piece of gear. Very comfortable, easy to get on/off and adjust. The front pocket is super convenient for storing anything you need to have at the ready (like a flask).

Oh, and it keeps you afloat, too.

Bought these as a gift for my mother for Mother's Day. She loves them. They're very comfortable, she can wear them all day at work (she works on her feet) and she's received a number of compliments on them. Fit true to size, according to her.

You can never really go wrong with a pair of socks from SmartWool. They're extra comfy, and have just the right amount of cushion for long day hikes or trekking trips. They dry quickly, don't stink as much as cotton. In the backcountry where your feet can be your lifeline, treat them right and cover them up with some SmartWools.

Picked these up for hiking/backpacking or long days out doing manual labor. I cannot say enough good things about them. Super soft, breathable, and just the right fit to keep everything in place down there, but not be too snug or uncomfortable. Very quick drying, and they don't retain odor nearly as bad as cotton. Do yourself a favor and pick these up.

I picked up a few pairs of these for backpacking/day hiking. I absolutely love them. Lightweight, breathable, dries quickly and have a great fit. They come down just shy of your kneecap. They've also got some good flex to them for making more athletic maneuvers, should you need to. Great price point for a great product. Fits true to size.
