Andrew Mark's Bio

Born and raised in Salt Lake City, I grew up snowboarding, hiking, backpacking, climbing, kayaking and generally romping about the woods. After spending four years in the Pacific Northwest for school I came back to Utah, though I still love the PNW and visit often. I started as a Gearhead here at Backcountry, and am now a Senior Analyst in our Fraud department.

Get out, stay out, and spread the stoke.

HydroFlask is one of the big names in the industry for a reason. Their stuff is high quality, durable, and sleek. I picked up this water bottle as a gift, and the recipient loves it. They use it every day. Keeps the hot things hot and the cold things cold.

I bought these for my brother for his birthday to use at the gym. He absolutely loves them, and is asking me to buy him another pair or two. Lightweight, breathe well and with Nike you know you're getting quality material and manufacturing.

Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Just picked one of these up for general summer outdoor activities. I'm super stoked on the sound quality, and like others have said, it can really take a beating. Super long battery life, and the twin handles not only make it easy to grab in a hurry and go, but you can also hang it up somewhere.

A bit pricey, but worth every penny.

There's a reason Chacos are so popular. Very comfortable, offer great stability and have that classic look. Great option for everyday use, river trips, light hiking or relaxing in once you're in camp at the end of a long day backpacking. Once you've got the straps adjusted the way you like, they're super easy to take on/off. Definitely worth picking up.

Picked this up for river trips (mostly to avoid getting a ticket). But it's a great piece of gear. Very comfortable, easy to get on/off and adjust. The front pocket is super convenient for storing anything you need to have at the ready (like a flask).

Oh, and it keeps you afloat, too.

Bought these as a gift for my mother for Mother's Day. She loves them. They're very comfortable, she can wear them all day at work (she works on her feet) and she's received a number of compliments on them. Fit true to size, according to her.

You can never really go wrong with a pair of socks from SmartWool. They're extra comfy, and have just the right amount of cushion for long day hikes or trekking trips. They dry quickly, don't stink as much as cotton. In the backcountry where your feet can be your lifeline, treat them right and cover them up with some SmartWools.

Picked these up for hiking/backpacking or long days out doing manual labor. I cannot say enough good things about them. Super soft, breathable, and just the right fit to keep everything in place down there, but not be too snug or uncomfortable. Very quick drying, and they don't retain odor nearly as bad as cotton. Do yourself a favor and pick these up.

I picked up a few pairs of these for backpacking/day hiking. I absolutely love them. Lightweight, breathable, dries quickly and have a great fit. They come down just shy of your kneecap. They've also got some good flex to them for making more athletic maneuvers, should you need to. Great price point for a great product. Fits true to size.

As the other reviews have stated, this blanket is pretty much a "can't miss". Incredible quality (as expected from Pendleton), great color schemes, and super comfortable. Great for a picnic or for a snuggle-sesh on the couch.

It seems that most of my T shirt wardrobe is slowly but surely becoming almost entirely Brixton. Their shirts are comfortable and stylish. I like that they fit a bit longer in the torso as well. Note, there is definitely a fit difference between their slim fit Ts and regular Ts. This one is a regular fit, which I mostly noticed in the sleeves, as they are wider than the slim fits that I usually purchase. Overall dig the shirt, and will keep buying from Brixton.

I bought these as a gift for my brother. His wife had been complaining that his sunglasses weren't exactly "fashionable". So I picked him up a pair of these babies. As always, with Oakley you're paying for quality and style -- which these have in spades. They look great, fit well, and the vision quality is awesome.

I purchased these as a gift for my sister-in-law for a trip she was taking to Moab. She absolutely loves these kicks. Super comfortable, she can wear them all day without any issue. TEVA has always made high quality products as well, so you can bet that they're not going to crap out on you at the first sign of wear. Fits true to size, would definitely recommend them to anyone considering purchasing.

I started buying Brixton hats, and now I've moved on to shirts. It's a simple T-shirt with a simple, stylish design. I love the slim and longer fit in the torso, and the material is soft and comfortable and stays that way after repeated washings. I'll keep adding to my collection of Brixton apparel.
