The g3 skins have been great so far. The tip and tail clips are the highlight, they fit straight away. As far as holding strength they have been just fine. Not much else to say. Great skins.
At $150 a piece they are a steal. They swing well. The flexible shaft feels very solid when cranking the pick into cracks but isn't noticeable when waterfall climbing. They are strange when you first look at them as the shaft is only slightly thicker than the pick, but don't let looks deceive you. They are far from flimsy. Overall, a reasonably priced, excellent tool.
I don't own this years model, I picked up last year's recently. However, I can't imagine Arc would change one of their centerfold pieces dramatically. No experience with the Fortius fabric but the Polartec Power Shield in previous models is phenomenal. If you want a breathable, active shell this is it. Pricey, but great
As Paul said the jacket is more air permeable but if used for what it's meant for, high output activities, it doesn't make much of a difference. I had mine out skinning in probably 25mph winds with 40mph gusts dropping the temp to around 0F and didn't feel anything. If you want breathability you don't want windstopper.
Just got this thing today. So, eager as I was, I took it outside to test it out and just get an overall feel. The bottom seem of the sack immediately blew out when stress was put on it. Additionally, the sack is much shorter than advertised, my head and toes were touching the walls and I'm only 6'1". Overall I was extremely disappointed. I need to figure out some kind of return. Mountain Hardwear definitely let me down.
I have the all black with white style and I love it so far. The face is heavy and the band is very comfortable and flexible. The face is easy to read and it also has some really cool detailing, like the enamel bezel. I'm extremely happy that I purchased this watch. Nixon's the best
